      I am living part of the year in my truck camper, and set up a Ring Security System paired with T-Mobile 5G Hotspot. I did not want to run a power inverter since I have 12v DC Power everywhere and USB power stations are already located in the area I want to mount the base and keypad. The Ring Keypad already comes with a Micro USB to USB wire so no need to replace that, but the Ring Base comes with a hard wired AC power adapter that has the exact Type M Barrel connector that this cable has so I bought it, tried it and no issues whatsoever ever. If your wanting to ditch the 110v AC power adapter and go directly to 5v DC via USB power port. This is the way to go.

      This item was purchased in the hypothesis that such an item can provide sufficient enough electrical power from one of the game console's USB ports (in this case, the Nintendo Wii U) as an alternative to the AC Plug that came with a USB Hub.

      The biggest obstacles was making sure that it was the right AC size and was rather difficult to gage the exact size. While it was longer than the AC plug the USB hub came with, it was a perfect fit girth-wise and have yet to fail to provide power as of the writing of this review. A bit steep in terms of relative price, but overall worth the application.

      One other reviewer said that it DID work with the Cradlepoint CTR35, and another said it did NOT work with the cradlepoint PHS300. I took a risk that: Cradlepoint would only use one size connector for similar products and that perhaps the second review was posted on the wrong item. Well I lost my bet.

      This item does NOT work with the PHS300, but I cannot speak to the CTR35. It seems that many people have been looking for a cable that works for this items... and as far as I can tell, it is not available. For some reason, Cradlepoint uses a connector with a larger than standard center pin, I would guess so that they can sell more changers rather than let customers have the conveyance of having one robust charger to all my devices.
