I've been drinking this coffee for several years now and have recently started purchasing it on Amazon because it's no longer sold in the local area. The coffee has a bold flavor, although it's not too overpowering; the beans haven't been burned, which is characteristic of all too many brands Starbucks sells. Overall, and excellent product I hope is stocked and sold for many more years...

I first tasted this coffee at a Sheraton Hotel earlier this year. I thoroughly enjoied its full bodied flavor and smoothness. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but I really enjoied this coffee. I went on a hard target search and couldn't find it anywhere but on Amazon.

First tasted this coffee at a resort in California and it took a week to find it when I returned home. The Starbucks stores don't even carryit in my town.It is that superior to other coffees and I have been a coffee drinker for over 40 years.Try it and youwill never go back to the coffee you are drinking now!

Smooth, rich, bold taste. One of my favorite Starbucks Coffees of all times! I have always been a fan of Colombian coffee's bold taste, but the African Kitamu is smoother, richer and very delicious. Give it a try if you like a bold rich coffee or if you are a fan of an espresso but don't have time to make it in the morning. Enjoy!

Starbucks coffee, to me, has a bitter taste. I have bought this blend before and it is good compared to many other Starbucks coffees. However, I can't see paying $26/lb for it. There are other African coffees that taste great and are less expensive. I also don't normally purchase or get too attached to blends for the simple fact that the blends cannot be reproduced easily if the company ever decides to discontinue it.

If you like this coffee give Kenyan or Tanzanian a try. Both are excellent African coffees, cost less and have similar qualities.

This is absolutely the best blend I have ever tasted. I must admit that about 95% of what I drink is Starbucks and I spill more coffee than most people drink. With that said, Kitamu has been the predominant blend for the past 3 years or so. I'm not sure if the current price of $30+ for 3 bags will deter me but, Damn! Its great coffee. I usually wait till Amazon has a sale & the stock up. In Jan. of 2011 they had 3-packs for just over $20 so the current price is a shocker.

I'm not a connoisseur that can politely describe in $5 words the distinguishing qualities of this blend. I have no clue what some people mean by calling a coffee "earthy". This blend is simply very full bodied & bold - without any after bite that can be had with an Espresso or French roast. It is so smooth yet so rich in favor. I sit here sipping my 3rd cup of the morning of this blend as I write this. There is a distinct taste - almost nutty that comes through. But don't get me wrong - this is not a flavored coffee - I freakin' hate that @#&*. It is that this blend is as different to other Starbucks coffees as Starbucks, in general, is to other premium coffees. If it helps you to better understand my taste - Sumatra blend is my 2nd choice of drink.

I don't feel the need to drink this everyday. But on the days I want to absolutely feel pampered and entitled, I'll sit in the hot tub with a cup of Kitamu. Excellent!

I could not find this product at the Starbucks location or on the Starbucks website. My husband loves this coffee. I was glad Amazon carried this item.
