If you like this coffee give Kenyan or Tanzanian a try. Both are excellent African coffees, cost less and have similar qualities.
I'm not a connoisseur that can politely describe in $5 words the distinguishing qualities of this blend. I have no clue what some people mean by calling a coffee "earthy". This blend is simply very full bodied & bold - without any after bite that can be had with an Espresso or French roast. It is so smooth yet so rich in favor. I sit here sipping my 3rd cup of the morning of this blend as I write this. There is a distinct taste - almost nutty that comes through. But don't get me wrong - this is not a flavored coffee - I freakin' hate that @#&*. It is that this blend is as different to other Starbucks coffees as Starbucks, in general, is to other premium coffees. If it helps you to better understand my taste - Sumatra blend is my 2nd choice of drink.
