At first when I came across this book it took awhile to get into. I actually stopped reading, went to other books and came back to this one to start over. Apparently I stopped too soon because after I got over that little bump keeping me from getting interested I just couldn't put the book down. Packed with lots of twists and turns. This book was unpredictable which made the book more interesting. I loved the back stories of the characters pasts. I loved how well developed the characters were. I loved that there was more than one point of view. Loved the unique name for the vampires: Lumineces, and the vampire Hunters: Reavers. I loved that there was also a back story of how the Lumineces and Reavers came to be which made the story all the better making this book unique and stand out from the rest. I loved the ideas of the stars being put into it.Read more ›
When Julia meets Clay there is an instant connection between them. Talk about your forbidden romance thought. Reaver and Vampire-really not suppose to fall in love. Despite all the hatred that they have been taught to have for one another, they fall for each other anyway.
Julia is such a strong character. She stands up to her father, goes after what she wants, and fights for what she believes in. Clay is sexy, fierce, and passionate. Together they make a good team, and the passion between them is full of heat! From the very start this story takes the reader on a fantastic journey. The unique twist on the vampire myth, the remaking of the vampire hunters, and the infusion of magic make this an exciting and edgy tale for of suspense, romance, and daring!
Lines will be drawn. Sides will be chosen. Love will be tested, and family's will be broken. Which side will you choose?
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Michele zugnoni has made a wonderful world full of beauty and intrigue that sucked me right intot he story from page one.
I love natural charcters and confident and realistic dialogue, and that's what I got. Team that with a hearatwrenching, yet magical storyline and you have yourself an amazing story.
Full of everything that I like within the paranormal worlds, yet missing the 'same-same' storyline that a lot of books seem to have. The characters also varied. Even though you have the typcial 'star-crossed lovers' and 'the baddies' so to speak, they are so different from the standard these days.
One of my favourite characters is Julia. Fiesty, confident, but with a sweet shyness about her, she charmed her way into my heart. I truly kept thinking of Romeo and Juliet whenever she was on the page.
Loved this book, and can't wait to read more from her.
One of my new favourite paranormal writer.
Julia is am amazing character just brimming with confidence and charm and she wins your heart over and leaves a lasting impression on you when you are done reading.
Michele describes the surroundings so well that you really feel you are there imersed in the story with the characters. Sexy Vampires and the Reavers who are suppose to hunt them, what is there not to like there?
The very first meeting between Julia and Clay is full of "Sparks". Great read I recommend it.
