I'm a HUGE Stargate fan LOVE Atlantis! I was excited to find more Stargate stories and seeing as the audio book is told by Paul McGillion I had to check it out.
I liked it; it was a new and interesting take on events. It was told brilliantly by Paul(Doctor Beckett) and Sarah Douglas (Doctor Gilbert), you could probably close your eyes while listening to it and see it like the TV show. And you get a bonus interview after the story.
Down sides are the suspense music in the background picks up and is about the same volume as Paul's voice so it becomes harder to hear in those areas. Also I'd love it even more if they were longer stories so you have more to enjoy. I'm going to buy more Stargate audio books, can't wait!
The foundation of the story is a bit cliche, but I think it was nicely executed. Both actors come across with their characters well and it was very engaging. I felt it to be a bit short, but then I'm greedy when it comes to Atlantis.
However,I was rather disappointed at the sound quality of the interview with Paul McGillion at the end. It sounded like they had the mic placed two inches from his mouth and it was very irritating and difficult to make out at times. You would think it would be a bit more professional or at least have tried to clean up the sound quality a bit.
If you like Stargate Atlantis stay away from this trash. Unless you also happen to be childishly delusional.
