This is a very nice hunk of software. It has many complex features that will take some time to figure out.
I think that a layered approach to display details would be a nice improvment. For instance, on mapping software where you can select levels of details that are displayed.
Many times I would like some basic details on a star just by clicking on it, but it seems something as basic as distance is buried and you have to drill down to find it, yet tons of other information pops up that I really don't need.
I am unhappy with this software, and disappointed in its lack of usefulness.
The software looks and feels clunky. Like something you would have used ten years ago. No integration with gps that is now built into practically every device, no integration into my laptop's gyroscopic controls, not touch screen friendly, and does not play nice with my system over all.
I could not install it on a mounted drive... heaven only knows why they would not let you do this perfectly normal installation. Instead I was forced to use valuable space on my main hard drive to install it.
I had hoped that for that much money, I would have something truly powerful. Instead I find that it is in most ways inferior to $10 apps.
The following weeks / months in that ensued have been less than satisfactory.
The SkyX Pro software does not allow one to save and retain ones' preferred directional settings / locations, city, nor viewing of the current night sky events.
Email correspondence has proven futile - as requests commencing the 31st of October 2011 to present day, the 21st of June 2012, have resulted with minimal support.
The various suggestions 'danced' around the primary issue:
This software shall be defective.
This software shall be unworthy of the inflated price of $369.00
