One particular disappointing note is in the description of the woman archaeologist because she is described as carrying a light luggage but later in the story is checking numerous resources for information. How did the books get to her if all she carries is a backpack of essentials. This unbelievably bad narrative continues throughout the story 🙄
Three women, three men.
First book gets the first couple together. They have sex.
Second book focus's on the second couple.
Third book......well, you get it.
They have a quest. It's always part of three.
The first couple gets together and the first part of the quest gets completed in book one.
This is extremely similar to the key trilogy and other "3" trilogies shes written and shes written quite a few.
You're mesmerized through your first trilogy you read from her, but then after understanding her writing, it's not much fun anymore.
Many complain of Roberts taking too much time describing the food they eat. I agree. I've noticed Nora has cook books on the market, so unfortunately food is seeping into her fiction a bit too much.
Some won't mind I suppose.
Since I've read nearly everything by N.R. I'm careful of what I buy now. No more "In Death" books for me either. Time moved too slow in those and the characters got boring. Writing got stagnant.
Will be skipping the next two installments of this series since I already know whats going to happen.
It's good. Enjoyable and the reason for my indecision on three or four stars. Because it was too predictable, I went with three in the end.
With that all being said, I LOVED her last trilogy (Dark Witch). How could THAT one have been so much better than this?
In this first book, the exceptionally talented artist, but timid, Sasha, emerges from her solitude and bravely travels around the world to follow a series of recurring visions. She immediately begins to meet the people from her visions and with their help, especially that if the enigmatic Bran, learns to accept and even control her gift and becomes the linchpin of the group, forcing them to realize that they will never achieve their goal of finding and protecting the three Stars of Fortune without coming together and working and living as a group and trusting in each other in every way. It’s a love story, but mostly an adventure!
You can’t help but wanting to rush through all three books and not only finding out if they achieve their goals, but exactly HOW they do it and you want to devour every sentence and word of another of Nora Roberts’ exceptional books!
