I will tell you, this is the best game EVER! (well, maybe not ever) It is very cool. Here's what you do:
#1. You go around killing people in vehicles called Hercs. (Herculean blah blah blah.)
#2. Join a squad and advance in rank. Once you do that, you will get better and get new configs.
#3. Get a BETTER computer! The optimum speed should be, say, 500 mgz. Laser mouses are a MUST HAVE. Targeting is the key to survival! If you have an old mouse, throw it out and get a better one.

Starsiege is hands-down the best game to come out on the market. I myself am a vetern of this action-packed fast-paced game. I lead my own squad, the Starsiege Mafia, and I've seen all there is to see. A person's first impression is to look at the graphics, yet why dare comparing graphics against gameplay? The controls are a bit harsh to the "newbie" but he becomes familiar with time. The sad truth is, people don't want to play because it takes over a week, and maybe even a year, just to adjust yourself properly to the game. And others are just so lazy, they don't want to endure the hardships of teamwork, which, sadly, I have witnessed personally within the game. And also, take Izzy's advice, he's the ultimate modder. What makes this game so great is the fact that it does take teamwork, effort, time, and sometimes, for us mappers, imagination. A lot do not like the idea of, how did gamespot put it.."Man-made maps", but that's the fun of it!! The ideas in your brain come out in these maps! Overall, get this game, and, amazon, start charging more for it. It deserves much more credit than what you give.

This game, I believe, could be used in the dictionary to define "cult classic". When it came out oh so long ago it recieve average (at best) reviews by mainline critics. As far as I'm aware, it has never had substantial number of people who ever even knew about it. But this game has the greatest fanbase of any game I know. I'm not talking numbers, but dedication. I have loved this game and even after so long (nearly a decade) there are still people who play this. I would HIGHLY recommend that you shell out the 4 or 6 dollars for this and take the time to master and grow in it. There's very little I can honestly say as to why I love this game, but it is phenomanol. It's story is engaging, broad, and emotional; the people who play this are only those who love it and almost all of them are honorable online and are willing to help out any newcomer. In short, you may never grow to like this game, but if you do, you will love it beyond all reason.

Phenomenal old game, with truly amazing multiplayer featuring 32 players and custom map and mod support. 1000's of hours of quality fun were had, friends were made, Cybrids were destroyed.

Like so many old great games, it makes me legitimately sad that I can't boot it up to a full server and play again.

Starsiege is addictive, with out a doubt. Howerver, if you like 1st person / team 1st person shoot'em up games this is just for you. Even so this game takes brains and team work (many diff maps). The single mission play is outstanding and the multiplayer is quite good. Even so don't expect it to be as easy as the single player ..it's not. Now let me start by saying that SS is in some ways one of those hold over games that if cable modems and gf2+ would of been the norm this game would be on it's 7th add on pack- no doubt. The graphics (for its time) rivals that of Q3 and the like. It is an easy game to play and has very small requirements by todays standards. I have been playing StarSiege since it came out and the reason im here? To get a replacement disc, mines tosted from use and abuse. You just cant go wrong in purchasing this game esp. if you like a close nitt bunch of players that love to battle in futuristic mechs universe with realy good graphics.
