Nolan Wood has his dream job, a morning DJ on one of Austin's most popular radio stations. Shelby Drake is an accountant who lives for the order her numbers give her. When Nolan and Shelby notice each other from across The Fix bar they couldnt take their eyes off one another. Things from there move quickly with lots of fun and heat, to say the least.
What I loved about Shelby and Nolan's story are the lessons they learn from one another from the get-go. Shelby learns to loosen up while Nolan learns that sharing his life is more than just the one night stands he is used to. Ms Kenner does it again telling a well-balanced story that is full of love, romance and lots of heat. I also loved that the story runs parallel to what we have already read in the first set of books so we get a different perspective on events that have already taken place. That being said this is a standalone so if you have missed the first 3 books you won't be lost coming in with #4.
If you are looking for a fun read then look no further than the Man of the Month series - it just keeps getting better and better!
Nolan is a DJ at a local radio station, his early morning show is raunchy and racy. He's a maan whostruggled through his childhood to become the man he is today. he's determined and anything he wants he goes after and after seeing Shelby, he's more determined than ever. Shelby is an accountant, she is the complete opposite to Nolan, she's quiet, semi-conservative and a person who doesn't like to disturb the peace. A night out at a bachelorette party, a few too many drink and the sight of a gorgeous man sitting at the bar, turns Shelby int a completely different woman.
I ove the banter and the interaction between Nolan and Shelby. Even though they are opposites they fit together beautifully. Nolan pushes Shelby and gets her to question herself and the way in which she sees herself.
Nolan makes the perfect Mr April. Looking forward to finding out who Mr May is. A recommended read.
Read and Reviewed for Reading Is Our Satisfaction.
Shelby is not a prude but she is a very fastidious person. She has a plan for her future and Nolan does NOT fit into that plan. But even Shelby cannot deny the immediate attraction between them. Her plan is Alan but after meeting Nolan she is beginning to realize that the sparks she felt with him are nowhere near when she is with Alan.
Nolan has already been there done that with uptight women. At first glance he is ready to write Shelby off as hot but uptight, but upon further (and closer) inspection he realizes that they have a chemistry between them that he has never experienced with anyone else, ever.
Can a crass radio DJ make nice with the prim accountant?
Well-written and well-paced, this was another great read and I'm excited with how each of the upcoming characters are gently weaved into the plots in earlier stories without being obtrusive to the current story. Enjoy!
