The author has a great writing style. It is clear and easy to read and understand. I liked the author's "voice" a lot - he is very relatable and reading the book felt like listening to a wise friend who had great advice to share.
He breaks emergency prep into logical sections - from "food storage" to "emergency energy" and beyond. Everything is laid out in a way that is very simple to follow and understand.
This is a great resource for anyone new to the idea of emergency preparedness - I have no doubt that following the advice in this book will have you very much prepared for anything that could go wrong. This book is also a great refresher for those who have been doing this for a while - it will help you re-evaluate what you have done and figure out where you could do better.
This book is definitely worth the money and the time to read! It is outstanding!
Start Prepping is a step by step guide to becoming prepared BEFORE an emergency, it's not a field guide for when you're neck deep in the thick of things!
Some books, TV shows and articles can make being prepared very overwhelming; while this book, Start Prepping, is just the opposite. The book is broken down into easy to follow steps starting with the most vital for survival, with check points at the end of each step that are designed to really make you think about your own personal situation and environment... Because as explained in the book, someone who lives in the city will have different immediate needs than someone who lives in the country and so on... The author also makes a point of talking about how survival is also a state of mind, and preparing your mind for survival is more important than having the survival "stuff". I hadn't really thought about it that way before, but is an example of one of the many ideas presented in the book.
Another thing that I really like about Start Prepping is that it's written in a way that's easy to read. It's not some boring manual that puts you to sleep the second you pick it up, the author has written it with personality and has added interesting stories that makes it much more entertaining to read.
All-in-all, I'm finding Start Prepping interesting, motivating, and packed full of extremely useful information and ideas. It's really worth the time to read it!
This is a must read and a great resource to refer back to many times as you build up your level of preparedness.
Thanks Tim, Well Done...I will be checking out your other book offerings.
Events such as these are in the news almost daily, but a blown tire on a deserted highway could be just as devastating to those involved. Vehicles normally have a spare tire and jack, but how often do we check the tire’s condition or see if the jack will actually lift the vehicle? Who among us have the forethought to carry a first aid kit or a supply of drinking water? These simple things could turn a catastrophic event into a minor inconvenience.
Start Prepping is a complete, easy to read, common since guide to getting prepared for whatever might transpire. In ten steps Tim covers everything from developing a survival mindset in yourself and your children, to building a supply of stored food. All the necessities are covered and it is a welcome addition to my reference library.
