She later worked in multiple restaurants and corporate R&D kitchens and then returned to school for an MA in writing and food studies. This is book is great for anyone who plans to start a home based food business. It is easy to read and understand. You can tell that the author has lot of experience. The book is somewhat dated and mentions very little about using the computer or social media to make task easier. The big problem that I have is not being able to locate the CD that's mentioned through out the book. This really needs to be address. I really should have rated this book at 3 stars for that reason but the ease of reading the book forced me to give it 4 stars. The title "start" is exactly what this book is.

Great book but mine didn't come with the resource CD mentioned multiple times throughout. I'm very upset there's no CD, I'm debating returning it and buying elsewhere. Other than that one issue, I LOVE this book. It's very well written, it reads almost as if you're having a chat with the author. It's full of very useful information for all aspects of starting a home-based food business. Four starts onlg because the CD is missing, content is 5 stars.
