Sleater-Kinney were known for their feminist, left-leaning politics, and were an integral part of the riot grrrl and indie rock scenes in the Pacific Northwest. This was a surprise gift for my wife's birthday, and she absolutely loved it. SK is her favorite band of all time, and it was so good to see the look on her face when she opened it. It's still in the shrink-wrap in our house because she treats it like a treasured heirloom, but I have no complaints whatsoever. The shipping from Amazon was perfect-- it arrived in an extremely well-protected box so none of the records would be damaged.
Awesome quality box set. I am so excited that SK is back together!! They are the best rock band in the world. If you don't know SK, you owe yourself to listen to them.
This is it. This is the most beautiful recopilation of Sleater-Kinney discography, plus a nice collection of never-seen photos of the group during her tours (underground as more publicized ones). The collection of 7 LPs and the single from her latest album, will surely be the most valued possession of any Sleater-Kinney fan.
I'm a fairly newbie to S-K, so when this boxset was released they were still in the background for me. Months and eight albums later (including No CIties To Love), they are one of my favourite bands.
This boxset is great. All albums are remastered including a download code allowing you to add them to your digital collection and play them on the go. The other great thing about this is that the downloads come in options for both flac and mp3, and you are also given digital copies of the booklets for each album.
The remastering from the original tapes have certainly been done carefully and the sound is a lot more punchier which is even noticeable on the digital versions. The vinyl itself is high quality and the sleeves havebeen given an all around improved feel. The other nice touch with the remasters is that they also include the extras that came with the first pressings, like the poster included with the One Beat album- this time on heavier, more wearing paper.
The hardbook includes pictures from throughout the seven albums taken by mostly themselves with nice words at the beginning by Corin, Carrie and Janet. The box set also includes an art print of the band circa 1996. The other addition to the box set is a single sided 7” of “Bury Our Friends”, the B-side is embossed with the signatures of the band.
Put simple: If you are a fan of the almight S-K, you will have to purchase this. Go on. You know you want to.
Received this very quickly and managed to still get the awesome colour vinyl edition. My friend ordered this from subpop as soon as it was announced and had a nightmare with them. Only just arrived yesterday. I ordered and received mine in about 3 days. Very Happy! Got tickets for the reunion tour in Manchester love this band!
Il cofanetto è bellissimo per il suo contenuto ma purtroppo l'imballaggio non era adeguato.anzi proprio non c'era dato che ci si è limitatiad apporre un'etichetta con il mio indirizzo sul cellophane che rivestiva il box.senza considerare che quando si acquista un cofanetto lo si fa anche per la scatola che contiene i dischi.altrimenti si comprerebbero direttamente i singoli pezzi.
