It took all of about 30 to 40 minuets and most of that time was watching the install video link that came with this item. Install was simple and programming the remote start was a snap. I saved hundreds of dollars and the big payoff was a very happy wife. No more call morning starts. I highly recommend this plug and play remote start.

Installed on push to start Rav 4 limited. Took about 10 minutes to install. Installation done by individual with intermediate level vehicle tech skills. Super easy ,works with factory remote. Very pleased. Plug and play, no surprises everything included. Just remember the factory remote is not meant to have a long distance connectivity. Aftermarket remote starts and such boast long ranges . The Toyota factory remote does not have a very long range and its inability to start the car without line of sight over a greater distance should not be blamed on this awesome starter module.

The most difficult part of installation, as others have noted, was removing the steering wheel column panels, and those adjacent. Installation was extremely simple and would have taken no more than 15 minutes had the panels not been a bit difficult to remove. 3 clicks of the "lock" button, car turns on, 3 more clicks, car turns off. Nearly perfect except that the car shuts off when you open the door.

The product itself seems of sufficient build quality for what it's needed for; well wrapped, and the plastic connectors seem sturdy. It also comes with an abundance of zip ties and a plastic prying tool. So far, a 5 star product. Will update in time.

I was able to install this kit in about 15 minutes in my 16 Avalon. Not saying everyone can do it in 15 minutes but watch the youtube install video first and it should be a piece of cake. Only issue I have with this is that (I don't believe) this unit can be programmed to run longer than 10 minutes at a time. I shouldn't need to have it running longer than that; however, Wisconsin winters can get pretty cold and 10 minutes don't warm it up enough. Other than that, I would recommend this to anyone!

Was hoping that this would work as shown on the video. Exceeded my expectations. Received the starter kit in 3 days and re-watched the video and had it installed and working with 45 minutes. Hardest part was dismantling the portion of the dashboard, but you just have to tug a little harder than you would think. There really aren't any written instructions, do watch the you tube video and it quick and accurate.
The video information shows for the Toyota Tacoma, but they are basically the same the Toyota Avalon that Installed it in. Great purchase.
You get for $150, what the dealer will charge $650. ( I called and asked)

I just got it this morning, and it took me maybe an hour to install. I have a 17 RAV-4 PTS. Pop off the steering column cover, and the panel that has the mirror controls, plug in a few wires, push a button on the module and I got it started on the first try. I now will have a warm car to get into in the morning because Ohio winters suck. Also no additional remotes. My keyfob starts it. It takes a few seconds for it to start, but it works.

**Update**: So I had some issues with it in my 17 RAV 4, PTS. I cannot use my headlights outside of automode. Nor can I remote unlock my vehicle. I have to open it by the handle. At this point I'm not that thrilled about either prospect and I am going to be returning it.

Easy to install. Hardest part was finding the ECU port. On my 2018 RAV4 that's located just behind the OBD port, it's the center connection and can be seen if you look up from the floor mat. There are videos on youtube if you get lost, amazon won't let me link them or I would. Overall it's a relatively easy install with pretty vague direction. Watch the video they link and maybe search youtube for some extra help if you get stuck.

They do include a pin switch to install under the hood so you can't accidentally start the remote kit while the hood is lifted... But they didn't include any direction on how to wire it.
