Picked this up for work (construction) since it's cheap. Meaning I don't care how dirty it gets or if it gets damaged, just pick up another one in six months if needed. It happens, construction work is dirty.
The jacket itself is great, lightweight, warm and waterproof. The issues I have (like most) are with the zipper, it is on the opposite side as usual for men's clothing. Just have to get used to it and you'll be fine.
My other issue is with the collar. It is too short, meaning it is kind of difficult to get it to lay down around your neck. Another problem to get used to.
Two large inside pockets are nice, two outside are as your would expect and the zippered chest pocket is real nice to store small stuff like keys.
Overall, the issues aren't bad enough to return or stop me (or my wife, she got one too) from getting another, especially if they stay this inexpensive.

Understated in appearance, this black soft shell jacket is a mix of mostly polyester and a small amount of elastane for comfort. The fabric used is designed to be water resistant. The outer shell is smooth and has a thick windbreaker fabric feel and the inside is lined in a soft fleece. The garment is well-constructed and sewn skillfully.Details include a loop at the back inside neck so the jacket can be placed on a hook, a small discrete reflective logo is located on the left cuff and the 2 1/2 inch upright collar keeps neck dry in a storm. The jacket has numerous zippered pockets including a vertical pocket on the upper left chest with a 6 inch zipper closure and 6 to 7 inch depth.There are two front side pockets that have 7 inch zipper closures and a 7 to 8 inch depth. And, inside the jacket there are a couple of open pockets. A 6 1/4 inch by 3 inch smartphone fit in all of the pockets but that will vary based on the phone.A nylon full length zipper operate Starter Men's Water Resistant Soft Shell Jacket, Amazon Exclusives easily and although habit may dictate a preference for a left or right side operation, minimal research indicates the zipper design is generic and is used in garments for all genders.The large size jacket is 28 inches long and chest circumference is 48 inches measured from underarm seam all the way around. The bottom hem circumference is also 48 inches around and sleeve length is 35 inches. The jacket looks good on the in-house male and the sizing on him is exactly as expected.Laundry care instructions are close all zippers and machine wash cold with like colors and use only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Do not tumble dry—instead line dry. Do not use fabric softeners, or iron or dry clean. Good looking jacket.
