Product Description
4 oz of Activated Charcoal Powder, packaged in a resealable bag. Activated Charcoal is used as a purifier. It is highly proficient at removing color, flavor, and odor compounds from liquids such as juice, wine, and sweeteners. Starwest’s Activated Charcoal is made from sawdust and therefore is a renewable resource. As a wood-based activated carbon, it is highly adsorbent due to the particles’ large surface area and high volume of pores compared to activated charcoal produced from other, non-wood materials. In fact, wood-based carbon has twice the pore volume as carbon created from coal, lignite, and coconut. As a result, high purification happens in a shorter time while using less carbon. This Activated Charcoal is food-grade quality and is considered to be GRAS (generally regarded as safe in food processing).

Other than that, I've tried it once as a tooth whitener...kept inhaling the extra powder so that probably won't happen again. One time didn't provide a visible difference though. What I love this stuff for is the face mask! Mixed with a bit of bentonite clay and water, left on for ten minutes ONLY (this mask can be very drying), once a week has cleared up my pores more than the somewhat disappointing bentonite alone. I'm talking second mask, absolute difference, years of visibly blocked pores almost gone!!
I've read that this can also be used with coconut oil to make an all-natural eyeliner. So far, oil has helped me get the leftover "stains" off my face and tongue, so I don't know well how it will work. For now, this is just for face masks in this house as its worked brilliantly for that purpose!
And the Prop 65 warning is required on all products sold in California that have a chemical substance that MAY cause cancer OR reproductive harm...I remember working retail and putting that warning sticker on shoes!! It's on everything with even a slight chance. So, everything, as everything messes with your body these days.
Activated carbon is used in gas purification, decaffeination, gold purification, metal extraction, water purification, medicine, sewage treatment, air filters in gas masks and respirators, filters in compressed air and teeth whitening!
I use activated charcoal powder to brush my teeth. Teeth stains are acidic in nature. The charcoal powder's basic nature (alkalinity) and abrasiveness remove the teeth stains.
To preserve the charcoal from moisture, I place the contents of the bag into a glass air-tight container. Do not dip a wet toothbrush into your main powder source or it will harden.
When I brush my teeth with the powder, I place a teaspoon of the powder into a small bowl then dip a wet toothbrush to collect the powder and then start brushing. You can mix the charcoal powder with a dab of toothpaste if the taste bothers you, although the powder taste like nothing. It makes quite a mess, hence I use this method while I am showering or the kitchen sink. Afterwards, it is important to fully rinse out your mouth of the charcoal.
For the best results, brush your teeth with the powder for a minimum of three minutes. Brush each section of your teeth thoroughly. Follow-up with sodium bicarbonate and your teeth will be whiter.
It is not fatal if you accidentally ingest a small amount of the powder. It does not cause permanent staining in clothing or furniture.
Remember! The best methods to obtaining a fantastic smile is not just cleaning, but a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables, and the abstinence of tobacco and alcohol, and sugary products consumption.
Remember! Most human beings have a natural yellow tint to their teeth. Don't be bamboozled by the fake Hollywood smiles.
