The author wastes no time in introducing the shocking and taboo parts of the book in the first chapter. If you can stomach the first chapter the rest until the end isn't so bad. One thing I am not a fan of putting a character through hell giving them a tiny glimpse of normal and then yanking it from them again at the end for reasons that really dont make sense.
Something I had not seen before was the author gave us two epilogues so you can decide how you wanted it to end. I got how the heroine could go either way but after reading the book I was left very unsatisfied with all the outcomes. For me where it went wrong was the last chapter before the epilogues.
There are 2 alternate endings, but there is NO happy ending, for Giano and Angel. I repeat Angel and Giano DO not end up together, at the end of this book.
warning that this book is not for the faint of heart or for anyone who is easily offended. That having
been said, this is an extremely well written look into the dark side of human nature and the price
required to indulge in that dark side. This story is about a young girl named Fallyn who is being sexually
abused by her father and her escape from that painful life at the hands of a dark stranger. Fallyn was
given the choice to assume the identity of the dark stranger’s recently deceased daughter Angelina in
order to have an entirely new life and she does just this. It was extremely difficult for me to read Fallyn’s
story, especially the parts where her father touches her. It was also not easy to read about these difficult
and almost surreal decisions that she was continuously forced to make in order to survive and it truly
broke my heart to read about all of these terrible things happening to her. In my opinion, no child
should ever be placed in horrible situations like this, especially by the very people who are supposed to
be protecting them and keeping them safe. In reality however, this is not always the case and horrible
things like this happen each and every day. Setting my own personal hesitations in reading this type of
material aside, the author handles writing about this subject matter with incredible skill and finesse. I
freely admit that there were several points throughout this story where I had to stop and take a break
because the material became almost too overwhelming and dark in nature and I did not want to
continue at the time.Read more ›
Fallyn has never known love. Being abused by her parents she is a mere shell of her ten year old self. Until fate steps in, in the form of a hitman tasked in killing her parents. But she doesn’t see a killer she sees a savior.
He takes her away from the only home she has ever known. Now she is surrounded by pink and girly things that she only dreamed of having. Realizing that her capture, Giano is no going to harm her further she starts to settle in.
Giano lost his wife and daughter in a tragic accident. When Fallyn enters his life he realizes that he might just retain a part of that spark that left when his family died. He knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Fallyn is supposed to be dead. So he devises a plan to turn Fallyn into Angelina…his lost daughter. Angelina was only a year older and with homeschooling they get Fallyn ready to enter school a year ahead of what she was supposed to be going into.

Only when the past comes back to haunt them does Angelina truly learn the truth about Gianao. She should be frightened but it only draws her closer. As her love for Giano grows so does Angelina. She is no longer the little girl but now a beautiful woman. She doesn’t want to leave him, she wants to stay forever. But fate has another plan and oh man it wll shock you.Read more ›

I found this under dark romance. It was anything but romantic. This is the story of a child tortured and having to reassemble her life. I can't say I enjoyed the book. Read morePublished 8 months ago by apocrypha
