Steadicam SOLO Features
Adjustable Post Locks
Tighten or loosen off the post clamps for when you need to swap between monopod or Steadicam.
Depending on your cameras setup, the Steadicam SOLO offers the ability to adjust the Gimbal in order to change the centre of gravity giving you the ability to shoot from higher up or adjust for low mode.
Shoot Low Mode
Rather than bending down low to get that shot close to the ground simply make the necessary adjustments with the tool supplied and reverse the setup into Low Mode to shoot low down to the ground.
The Steadicam SOLO is also designed so that it can convert to a monopod. Simply unclip the post locks and extend the tube post to the desired height up to 161cm. Ideal for when you need to switch your HD DSLR to take still shots.
Lets break it down..
The new SOLO is a true Steadicam: precise, rigid and beautifully engineered, and it’s also a brilliant and versatile monopod; but most startling, after decades of shooting, is the realization that the Steadicam SOLO can deliver a combination of shots never imagined. With its inertia-augmenting ‘wings’ folded out, monopod shooting is stable in all three axes -- ‘tilt and roll,’ obviously, but now also ‘pan’ -- and with SOLO also balanced in Steadicam mode (at any desired length), you can smoothly ‘lift off’ and walk, run or climb stairs like your favorite moves from the movies. We have entered a new, highly democratic era in film-making, and our tools are ever more accessible for shooting, editing and special effects. Increasingly, success may finally depend more on skill and talent than on big budgets -- and SOLO can help you get there. This latest iteration of the ‘noble instrument’ is cool and it’s hot!
The new SOLO is the latest video camera stabilizer from Steadicam. The ideal stabilizing system for video cameras up to 10 lbs., including DSLR’s. The Solo can be used handheld or with the optional SOLO Arm and Vest system for additional support and comfort. To enhance versatility, the SOLO can also be quickly and easily converted to a monopod for more filming options. The ergonomic foam gimbal handle and post control grips allow for comfortable and accurate control of your rig. High quality construction featuring a precision 3 axis gimbal provides durable design with silky smooth movements. The new SOLO offers improved balancing control and ease of use. The introduction of Steadicam in 1976 revolutionized the world of film and video. Over the past 3 decades, Steadicam has been an invaluable, dynamic production tool in the industry. New generations of Steadicam Camera Stabilizing Systems have been comprehensively redesigned to unleash endless creative possibilities.
