I bought these last year after getting my first snowmobile. I always ride with friends, but you never want to get stranded in bitter Maine nights sitting with a dead sled. Tonight my pal and I left for an hour night ride. Got about 10 miles in and he blew his belt, and found he had left his second belt in the garage (good place for it).

I let him sweat it out a few minutes yammering about how he has some tie downs in his truck, etc. etc.
Then I reach into my sled bag and pull out these bad boys. The hooks are heavy duty, love that they lock into the D rings.

I use my 2005 Skidoo GTX to tow his (brand withheld) back to the house with no issues. Well, the only issue being the really steep woods hills. I would not want to tow a full size 2up with a friend on it for a long long time...

The straps would have lasted way longer than my clutch belt.

If you go riding where you are more than a few miles from any road, get these.

Update 4-3-14:
Used this to pull a sled about 8 miles out. The bolts on the skis rubbed against the strap the entire way causing it to fray very badly. This essentially ruined the strap or at least made it untrustworthy. Would be nice if there was some sort of reinforcement or plastic sheath that could help prevent this. Downgraded to 4 stars for this.

Original review:
You'd be crazy not to have one of these when you go out sledding. Great quality and super easy to attach and detach. No knots required, just loop and click it.

This allows you to pull from the front skis rather than from the bumper which will result in damage.

Would be nice if the length was a bit longer as the guy being pulled tends to get a face full. We have used this as a tow rope to pull my son on his snowboard as well.

Great product as well as a necessity. One day you'll regret not having one!

Great tow strap. My previous one was about 3 ft long and made for one h*ll of a ride when you need to be towed (2 ft from the sleds bumper infront of you at 20-30 mph can be quite a ride)This gives enough room to be able to brake if needed when being towed without slamming into the sled towing you. Rope is of good construction and seems durable enough.

So I used this to pull out 3 sled from creeks and overflow super sunk..I would never thought it would work for dead weight pulls but I worked everytime effortlessly. .if you have a sled this needs to be in your bag...like needs...1 day use saved my back over 10 different times I would of had to kill my back to get my friends sled out

I bought this 'just in case' one of our friends broke down on the trails.
Imagine how surprised I was when my carb iced up the other night when the temps went below 0 degrees F.
We were able to connect it up in less than one minute and got moving.
I strongly suggest that you find one of the videos on YouTube that shows how to connect it.
For us, it was well after dark and super cold and that's not the time to be looking over directions.

This is a must have at a great price.
I can't imagine how long we would have been stuck out in the woods before we found rope.
The other safety feature about the speed of deployment is that I broke down in the middle of the trail with no lights and would have been impossible to see.
An accident could easily occurred if we didn't get moving quickly.

That's a very long way to say 'you really need this on every sled, you never know which is going to break down and who will be around to help.

Haven't needed it yet but it is among our snow machine supplies that we keep with us along with a snow bungee, snow shovel with saw in the handle, water, trailmix, extra gloves, extra neckwarmer, etc. It is also solidly built and my husband was pleased with it and he is tough to please on quality.

To be honest, I have not used these yet. It's one of those things that you need occasionally. It seems well made and it's something that you should carry, because you never know when you will need it-trust me!

Package arrived just before a club event, and I packed it on my sled. Within a couple of hours, I used it to tow a disabled sled back to their parking area. This was through wooded trails, and it worked just great.

I'd strongly recommend one for every sled rider.
