The plot which is slow but steady until half way through the book, explores the whirlwind relationship of two young people from different backgrounds and nationalities, and their enduring love across thousands of miles; one that will bring them joy, unconditional acceptance, and love. The personalities of the main characters are as fascinating as they are dissimilar. Anne Ledwell. the overprotected daughter of a hard working, well-to-do lawyer and his wife is intelligent, determined and confident; a bit naive, but extremely tolerant and kind- hearted. Grant Caelen Donaldson, a man of modest means who works with his father and enjoys playing music with his band at a local pub has a strong faith but is sensitive about a past indiscretion. Beneath a charming and amiable disposition he hides a serious and strong-willed nature.
Within this contemporary romance is a strong message about faith, prayer, and looking to God for guidance and support. I enjoyed this tender love story although I questioned how anyone could fall in love so fast.
