Very brief synopsis - We are at the end game, and all of the players are in position. There is laughter and extreme joy, which slides into horror and the agony of loss. There is no way, really, to summarize Steal the Night without giving too much away, and I do not want to spoil this extraordinary story for anyone.

What worked for me - Ms. Blake has incorporated my all time, very favorite mythology into this series, with her own spin. That part of the story ended abruptly. I feel like that plotline will be revisited in the spin off series.

Throughout the series, we have watched Dev, Daniel and Zoey learn to work together, and they really function as a team in StN. The trio has cemented their bond to each other, and it is a beautiful thing to see.

The story grabs ahold and continues to escalate until this reader had to set her ereader down to take a deep breath, or several. We get extreme highs and devastating lows.

What I am still having a hard time processing-***Potential Spoilers- If you are good at reading between the lines and don't want to be spoiled, consider yourself warned -*** Zoey is in a very dangerous situation. Dev and Daniel know where she is. She has a specific task that she needs to accomplish, but even after she has the tools she needs, she allows herself to remain in dire circumstances. I get that Daniel needed time to heal and gather forces. I understand doing what you need to do to survive, and good for Zoey for that. But it strikes me as so out of character for her to stay when she could have escaped, and most importantly, for Daniel and Dev to allow her to remain in such a horrific state...It made more sense as I was reading, but 2 days later, it's not correlating with what I know about these characters.

I found the first of this series though Book Bub, a free site with free or cheap books by mostly new authors. I got hooked on the first one and read all 5 ( so far) Can't wait for the next one. I loved the story line and the development of characters . If you like paranormal stories , this has it all. Zoey is a woman who was raised by her father .. To be a thief for mostly paranormal stuff. In the first book Zoey's boyfriend Daniel who she has known and loved since childhood. He dies in a car accident and that is where the story begins. She is mourning his loss, but it turns out he comes back as a Vampire. She accepts this, but then Daniel is wisked away by the Vampire counsel and is gone for 3 years. He comes back a different person and is around her, still works jobs with her and their crew, but no longer will be her lover. Over the course of the 5 books ,Zoey is frustrated and finally accepts a date with a Faerie Prince who she met through her Troll friends that have been like a parents to her. And so the fun begins. Daniel hates Dev ( the faerie prince-Dev and Zoey have a connection she wants to explore...but she still loves Daniel. The thieves crew consits of a gay werewolf , her friend Sarah a witch , Daniel , Zach and Lee who are two werewolf brothers. Dev ends up doing a job with them and becoming part of the crew. Through the series Zoey and Dev hook up ( Dev is also a Fertility God and " green man" ,which means he can make plants grow. Lots of hot sex scenes and great development of plots. Including Daniel finally accepting Dev and eventually Zoey, Daniel and Dev morph into a three some, with lots of bumps along the road. Good action scenes in all the books and really does have a story lines that keeps you wanting more.Read more ›

Ok. I just–I need a moment to talk about that scene, that *incredible* scene (not a spoiler, don’t worry), when Marcus used his persuasion power to save them all from where they were being held in the police station. I grew fond of Marcus over the course of this series, but my complete and total love for him as one of my favorite characters ever kind of snuck up on me. And this scene was his moment of glory. It’s only a couple paragraphs long, but it’s perfect. *Perfect*. And if you like Marcus, too, you’ll be happy to know he had a bigger role in this book.

Oh, and that other scene in the shower? *SPOILER ALERT* The one when Daniel and Dev admit their feelings?! I was practically giddy with excitement because FINALLY!!! *END SPOILER ALERT*

As for the rest of the book, not only did it do a great a job with the depth of the characters, the emotions, and the absolutely adorable relationships of all kinds, it was an amazing conclusion to the series. Each book before this one had a somewhat self-contained plot, but the overarching plot was being set up the whole time, and this book took all those details and things that were set in motion in all the other books and brought them together in a great and natural way.

Yes, there was a lot of sex. Yes, the characters seemed to solve all their problems in the bedroom or the shower. Yes, they couldn’t even keep it in their pants while they were running from bad guys. And sometimes I was a little annoyed by those things. But, if you can accept that certain aspect of these books are just meant to be fun and sexy (it is paranormal *romance* after all), it’s a really great paranormal romance series.

Overall, it was a fun but emotional series with engaging plots and truly flawed but lovable characters who grew on me, and a series I can definitely see myself reading again in the future!
