Chance, the titular character of this novel, is a phone psychic on the lam from a police detective after an accident. Ren is her manager who keeps her safe. Devin is a Hollywood star who calls her psychic line and decides he needs to meet her -- that she should work for him.
Chance is a smart, stubborn character. She is also vulnerable, naive and easily manipulated. She's also attracted to Devin. . . or is it Ren? She's not 100% sure. Which causes much of the conflict in this book.
The book is in turns racy and sweet. From almost the first scene I was rooting for a "happily ever after" for Chance. It was an entertaining, quick read. A rare 1st person point of view book that I enjoyed, and one of the top 5 Kindle books under 3 bucks that I've read.
Anyway, great pacing, story kept me reading as I wondered how couple were going to get past each hurdle. Loved the HEA and the sneaky mention of Sarah in the end.
the idea of a phone sex line.. I mean.. a Psychic Line is H.O.T !
The overall idea of the story is intriguing with a mixture of future telling and dice rolling.
Chance Talia Mercer is secretly in love with someone,
afraid to act upon those feelings, she hides behind the word 'friendship'.
I only gave the book 4*stars because for this particular story,
I felt as though Devin's point of view would have enriched the dialogue.
He definitely needed a voice, Maybe not for the entire book
but certain intense scenes would definitely have added a little more pop to the story line.
Stealing Chance is Definitely a Must Read,
Manipulations, Back Stabbing and Love found in Unexpected Places.
But do not just take my word, read it for yourself..
