I purchased two of these security boxes to secure a couple Stealth Cam G30 Triad Armed 8mp Trail Cameras. Trail camera theft is a real problem so I do what I can to secure my cameras including lag bolting security boxes to hefty trees, locking the cameras into the box with a big lock and further securing the boxes to the tree with locking cables. The cameras fit very well in the boxes and they work well for their intended purpose. I secured the boxes to a good sized tree using 3 1/2 inch lag bots, driven in with cordless impact driver and socket. It's a little tricky to mount the square boxes on a round tree and get them to point the right direction. It's also important to get the boxes as level as possible to avoid crooked pictures. I secure the boxes using the largest Masterlock (combination style) that fits the box and use the same combination for all my cameras. I also install a locking cable through the sides of the box to further secure them.
The coating on the boxes seems durable but the light brown color stands out more than I would like it to. Camo would be better. So far so good but for the most part, my cameras are located on properties that don't seem to get a lot of a lot of trespassers. The boxes are reasonably easy to use and seem to be sturdy enough to deter a casual thief. Between the security boxes, hefty master lock and the locking cables, it costs almost as much to secure the (mid-grade) cameras as it would to replace them. Still, these are the best alternative I've found so far.
When installed, the boxes do make the cameras much more secure from theft, protect them somewhat from the weather and also prevent bears from damaging them (bears love to chew trail cameras). They are easy to service (just dial in the combo, unlock and pull the cable out, lift the front lid and the camera comes right out. It only takes a minute to check batteries and swap out sd cards. If you want to protect your cameras, these boxes do the job.
