Bought two of these. Both failed, after I locked cameras to a tree and a garage roof rafter. Keys would not turn the tumblers after 2 to 3 uses. Keys made of some kind of cheap pot metal. Bent with my bare hands (no - I am not the Hulk.) Had to use a hack saw to retrieve my cameras. Cables cut like made of licorice. The 5 star reviews are probably made by people who locked and unlocked a couple of times (or maybe they did not even try to unlock them!) Find another way to secure your camera or you have a big chance of losing the camera and wasting money on this made in China POS. So much for Master locks. From now on, I will buy the Asian branded item if my only other choice is to by an Asian item with an American brand. Same goes for DeWalt, Craftsman, etc. Really disgusted with US businesses that off shore and still hide behind their American brand.
UPDATE
Notice the side cutters (blue handled pliers) , the cut end of the cable, the lock with the key shank still in it, and the grip-end of the key.
I could not get the key to turn in the lock. After numerous attempts, I twisted it hard (no tools - and I am not the Hulk) and it broke off like pot metal! I was able, with very little effort, to cut the cable with ordinary side cutters, to remove the camera! I am using the camera to surveil a package delivery box at my residence, so thefts of opportunity are more of a possibility than a dedicated operation. Therefore, one of these cheap cables could suffice, if it worked.
If it is possible, may I please have a refund, or as an alternative (I am willing to take the chance to avoid thefts of opportunity) please send a replacement. Maybe I will get lucky.
