Awwwwww doing dishes for my mom in the big sink
Hear them plates and forks go clinkedy-clink
It's a pain in the but - I hate washing pots
Can never get'em clean - turns my stomach to knots
Scrubbin' an scrapin', washing and rinsin'
Trying to make 'em look clean and convincin'
But NO I can't do it - it's impossible!
My frustration is quite audible!
My Moms hears me whats that? We're good to go?
She got SOS Pads (our store don't carry Brillo)
Holy smokes they WORK! Work like a charm,
I fly through them pots like a violent storm!
That black stuff on the bottom don't stand a chance!
Undersides so shiny - put you in a trance!
Now I love these things - use'em all the time
I hope you liked my dumb little rhyme
It's time to blow - just so you know -
SOS Steel Pads are the way to go.
WORD.

A friend of mine says he buys all his items at Amazon.com and they arrive at his house within just a few days. This sounded great to me....but, I bought SOS pads last night at Wal-mart...got 18 pads for 2.98, Amazon has 18 pads for over six dollars!
Am I missing something here? I rated the item with many stars...but the price is absolutely ridiculous! Why would anyone do this?

Okay, so I'll admit I was raised by a mother who did 100& of the housework for me. I ran away into the real world thinking I could do it all. Needless to say, at 21 years of age, I've quickly learned that I am no where near the expert in life that I thought I was. Cleaning is my downfall. I'm terrible at it. I've spent a lot of my life thinking hand soap could be used to clean everything. I saw these and remembered my mother using them, but hadn't ever tried them. Thought they'd be worth a try.

I'll be honest- I had no idea what they were. But I recognized the name. They're basically steel wool (very fine, soft steel wool) with soap mixed in. They're used for scrubbing, and are really a 'one time use' product. They're not made to be used more than once. And I learned the hard way that they rust if left out wet (and leave terrible marks on what they're left on). But for the price, they're well worth their disposable nature. While scrubbing, they're very soft (unlike other steel wool products), so they don't scratch up your hand. You can scrub as hard as possible and still not get pricked by a loose piece of spikey metal.

My first experiment was my shower. Grime had built up for a long time. I literally used shampoo to clean out my shower- it's all I thought of. I spent about an hour scrubbing my nozzles, drain, and walls with these things. I rinsed, stepped out, and went 'Holy crap- how did I not know of these sooner?' My shower literally looked brand new!

Next up- the kitchen sink! Prior to these I'd used dish soap to wash the sink. These things left the sink super shiny. It was practically a mirror! I was amazed. All I could think was 'What else can I clean?'. Looked around the kitchen and found some stainless steel pots and pans.

Don't laugh too hard when I tell you what I use these S.O.S. Pads for...cleaning the rust off of old bicycles I restore. Nothing, short of sandblasting, will do it quicker. Besides, after sandblasing, the part in question needs to be re-chromed. There's probably 101 reason to still use this tried & true product.

They work. They always have. Nothing else to say.

Just know that you can probably get these a lot cheaper at most B&M stores. I'm not taking any stars off the review of the product itself though for that. The convenience of getting it delivered was worth it for me but may not be for you depending on where you live.

For those who have never used a S.O.S. pad before they are a wad of fine steel wool with this great sudsy soap that seems to clean everything better. Most of the time you can only use them a couple of times before they disintegrate because of rust. Moisture is not their friend and they rust almost overnight if not shaken well before storing, after use.
Love S.O.S. pads. I normally wash my dishes with a Scotch-Brite Non-scratch Scrub Sponge but there are times when they just won't get off some baked/cooked on material. Take out the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and it won't take off the material either. Grab the S.O.S. pad...wait, I'm out...oh no. Okay, grab the Comet Cleanser and try that. Still got a stain on the pot. Quickly order S.O.S. pads through Amazon. They come and my 6-Quart Farberware Classic Stainless Steel Covered Stockpot looks great again.
The men in my family would not think about washing their cars without S.O.S. pads available for the chrome bumpers and grill. Also good for removing hard water stains on the windshields and mirrors (don't use on painted surfaces).
Hope they never change the soap formula because it works great. It buffers the fine steel wool just enough to not damage my pots, pans or
