I am sometimes dubious when I read bad reviews about products, but you can believe the bad reviews you've read on this one. Admittedly I didn't pay much for this drill guide set, but the quality of the set I received was so bad I would be embarrassed if I were the manufacturer putting a product like this out on the market. Specifically:

- The "guide bushing" you use to center the drilled hole for all bushings had so much flashing in it the centering pin would never go through it without re-drilling the hole. This basically renders the whole set useless.
- Some of the bushings had holes so far off true center it would make a machinist laugh (or cry)
- The plastic plate had a crack through a small hole in it. Not sure what the hole is for but it doesn't matter
- The only bushing I really intended to use was the 1/4", and my 1/4" drill would not pass through it

In short, there is no excuse for poor quality like this no matter how much you paid for the item or where it was made. Next stop is the garbage can, I don't even want to take the time to return it.

A product has to be either pretty great or pretty terrible for me to write an Amazon review, and unfortunately this is the later. I was looking for a jig to drill vertical holes in wood too big for my drill press. This seemed like a simple, straightforward solution, and maybe it could have been, but the quality isn't there. The kit comes with a locating pin which you drop in the 3/16" bushing, and then center over the spot to drill. You then switch to the bushing you wish to use. The locator pin doesn't fit in the 3/16" bushing, and for that matter, my 1/2" drill bit doesn't fit in the 1/2" bushing! Plus which, the bushings fit too loosely in the base, so your drill isn't really kept vertical. It seemed like a good idea, and maybe the Rockler version is better, but his one is a total waste of money. Stay away.

I haven't had too much luck with using this set-up. It is hard to line up your hole and it is still hard to make the hole straight. I bought this for projects that don't fit the drill press. I will be looking for another solution as this has caused me to mess up a few projects.

This is not usable in my opinion. It is extremely flimsy and non-precise.
If you have very little use intended for this, it might work for you.

"Meh!" Describes it best.... Really thought it would keep the drill straight.... I mean I can't drill at a 45 or anything, but my side business needs uniform precision with drilling holes, so when I paired this with a 10" drill bit, I found I had wasted my money on both.... I'd be off by well over an 8th of an inch between the first board and the last board... An anticlimactic end to my excitement over this product

Crap crap crap don't buy it. Some of the bits are so tight they barely go through and others are so loose that they drill holes that are crooked as hell. This is a giant waste of money. Once again save your money don't buy this.

A piece of junk.
A worthless waste of money.
Design does not allow bits to be positioned and held perpendicular to object to be drilled.

The centering pin is larger than socket. It is totally un-usable.
I don't have nine more words to come up with.
