Defective!!! NOT Safe...Two large indented lines on top of board.

This is the second time I have ordered this product and returned it because it is defective due to the two indented lines going down the entire length of the stepper !!!

My friend has the same product and the surface is completely flat with more cushion

It is very uncomfortable to step on and you can easily lose your balance .

I have tried to get in contact with the manufacture but no response .

I’m not sure if this is the original or a knock off...either way I am returning it.

Hopefully the manufacture will get in contact with me if so I will update this review until then I give it a thumbs down!!!

ABOUT THE TREADING: I preferred the black color but almost ordered the colorful one after reading the review that compared the two and showed a superior treading on the colorful step. The company has updated their product and the black step now has the SAME good treading as the colorful step. Awesome!

This is THE step to get. High quality, made in the USA and the same one used in many step classes. It is long and stable. It grips to my wooden floor. I bought it when the price dropped to $75. Because it has become complicated to go to the gym since having my baby, I decided to workout at home. There are many free steps video on YouTube, like Jenny Ford's which are fun and easy. I use it as a bench to lift dumbbells as well. So happy I finally have one of these!

I purchased this at the Prime price of just under $47 including tax. The step arrived in excellent condition, no nicks, scratches, or dirt. I weight about 170 lbs and have a size 8 shoe. I used it on carpet and it did not move an inch. Very sturdy and safe. So happy I went with the Health Club size because I can do any step exercise without worrying about falling off the Step.

This Step does not include an exercise video. It comes with a yellow piece of paper telling you how to care for and use the step along with maximum weight capacity (300 lbs). The Step came inside the shipping box with no manufacturer's box. If you are planning to give this as a gift you will need a gift box or you will have to wrap the shipping box.

I was so excited to get this step after reading such rave reviews. Boy am I disappointed. I'll let you watch the video to see and I'll outline the pros and cons...cons being many. For reference, I a 46-year old female, 5'9 in height, weighing 148 pounds, with a size 10 women's foot.

Pros:
The step is lightweight and easy to assemble.
The top appears to be slip resistant and wide enough for large feet.
Easy to store by taking apart and hiding under a bed or in a closet.

Cons:
Top looks as if it's three long pieces of plastic stuck together with a slip-resistant covering.
Top is uneven and has indentions in it
Top had a huge indented scratch on it upon arrival
During the course of the short video, the top produced a bubble that wasn't initially there
Slips and slides around terribly on a concrete floor
Comes unassembled easily on carpet with just a few toe taps (did this several times causing risers to come out)
Only comes with 4 risers (2 for each side) despite all of the photos at the top of product page and no option to choose 6
Expensive compared to others on the market

If I could sum this Health Club Step up in one word it would be....UNSAFE. For goodness sake, it came apart, bubbled, tipped over, and slipped around just by stepping on it and jumping a few times. I can't imagine what it would look like after only a couple of full uses. I won't be trying it out because I'm afraid I will tip it over and fall when exercising, or hit it wrong with my foot and cause myself to fall over it.

No way would I recommend.

in the 1991ish, I bought the original Teal-colored Step with the purple and gray risers. I have been using it since then. Recently, the mat started buckling, but it's about 25 or 26 years old, so I got good use out of it. I didn't use it constantly during this time, but I used it a lot. I have been using it 4 to 6 days per week for the last 2-1/2 years. I decided to buy another one because this one held up so well. The newer version is improved. What I like about it is the mat has been redesigned. The older version of the mat was ribbed, which hurt to lie on it or hurt your hands if using it to stretch. This mat is very comfortable. Additionally, I like the way it "grips" my shoe when I am stepping. I especially like the original STEP because it's long enough to use as a workout bench. I use it for incline, decline, and flat chest presses and flyes as well as for an ab workout. The Step Original Aerobic Platform - Health Club Size The Step Original Aerobic Platform - Health Club Size It feels very secure, but my shoe doesn't stick to it. The only negative comment is the description of the product says a DVD will be included. No DVD is in the box. Then I was disappointed again when the enclosed leaflet had a web address "for online streaming videos." The web address is 404. I called the customer service number and left a message. Maybe they will provide a link to me.

However, I made the mistake of not shopping around before purchasing, and discovered later that there are many other identical products (with different names) on other sites for cheaper than this item. Lesson learned - shop around before buying, you might save yourself some money.

The packaging should be improved. The plain cardboard box came soaked from the elements with the contents also wet. It would be great if they had bagged the contents to protect and keep them clean.

I ordered this step in July but didn’t use it until my basement was renovated in September. I noticed the middle 4 out of the 8 rubber pieces that holds the step on the risers are missing. It shakes and it makes a lot of noise when I use it. I called amazon but it was already our of 3 months warranty period. For this cost, product should at least be inspected before sending it to customers.
