It took about 6 hours overall.
A few of the pieces were defective. One bolt was not cut properly and we had to go to the hardware store to replace it. In addition, a seam on one of the main plastic pieces had to be sanded down for the swing pole to be properly secured. It was quite a project.
The stakes used to secure the whole set are very challenging to install.
Like I stated, I'm pleased with the end result, but don't be fooled by the "easy to install" claim. Also, 2 people are definitely needed to install.
I can tell you ... hands down...DO NOT get this product.
It's assembly instructions are about the worst I've ever read. The parts are not correctly identified as to their placement. In some cases the parts do not correctly fit their intended placement. The final assembly will not endure the test of time. Bolts hold the plastic parts together... using washers to "clamp" the assembly tight. In some cases the bolts have the ability to flex, the washer is resting on a semi circle instead of a full circle... it will slip off over time with movement.
I don't care how well it's reviewed... I found this product so despicable, as compared to others on the market, that I felt the need to get on here and warn others against it's purchase.
Update: Step2 sent me replacement screws, no charge to me :) They got here within a week. My daughter absolutely loves this swing!
All in all, if you are on the fence due to the negative reviews, don't be. I'm glad we bought this item for our two year old who loves it!

Missing a part for the red wheel (a cap) that keeps the wheel on. My 2 year old still loves this play set. Bought it last summer and it has held up very well. Read morePublished 15 months ago by LindS
Very nice quality. Not too big and doesn't take much space on a backyard. Relatively easy to install.Published 20 months ago by Nat

This is not a solidly built $3000 redwood play set. It's plastic. It is what it is, don't expect more of it than that. Read morePublished 23 months ago by Kael Blackwood
Overall it is exactly as I expected. We're happy with the product. The last two screws remaining were not the screws required by the scamatics but we made it work.Published on August 2, 2014 by Kelly Grody
