About Stephen Goldhahn
Novelist, singer song writer/musician, history buff, and retired engineer.
A process engineer by profession, Stephen holds a MS degree in Chemical Engineering and has spent the major portion of his professional career consulting for the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industries.
"Greenwich: The Final Project" offered Stephen the perfect opportunity to combine his love of history and writing with his career experience in the biotech consulting field. His desire to bridge the gap between his two brain hemispheres climaxed in the summer of 2007 when he launched this writing project at the urging of his wife, Janet, following their off-the-beaten-path day trip to the quaint, historic town of Greenwich, NJ, on the Cohansey River.
While honing his professional technical writing skills, Stephen has been able to tap into his artistic side over the years as a singer song writer and musician. In the eighties he helped to establish an original rock band and, together with his brother, formed an independent record label to record and promote their music. His appetite for creative writing evolved from his song writing experience with its emphasis on lyrical content.
Recently retired from the consulting business, Stephen plans to spend more time on his other interests—creative writing, exploring history, and taking more “off-the-beaten-path” trips with his wife, Janet. Delving further into the colonial history of the region, Stephen is currently active with the newly formed American Revolution Round Table of South Jersey, where he serves in an official capacity as Secretary.
Stephen was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. For the past thirty-plus years, Steve and his wife, Janet, have called south Jersey their home, and are the proud parents of two grown sons, Kevin and Michael.

It is the summer of 1999. A little girl mysteriously vanishes in a Wisconsin cornfield during a friendly game of hide-and-seek. Over the next sixteen years, the list of missing persons in Sheboygan County only grows. GMO corn, giant mushrooms, crop circles, sinkholes, Native American folklore…could there be a connection?
Luke Kramer, a young, aspiring news reporter, teams up with UW Madison botanist Aiyanna-Nez Black Bear, a Sheboygan County sheriff’s detective (Dan Meyers), and his rookie deputy (Sam Riley), to find the answer.
Aiyanna, of Ho-Chunk (Winnebago) Native American descent, introduces Luke to the traditions and legends of her people. But the situation rapidly devolves into turmoil and chaos as Luke and Aiyanna must deal with forces beyond their control from the depths of Underworld realms grounded in Ho-Chuck myth and shamanistic religious beliefs.
In the words of Detective Dan: “A modern-day legend born of desperation and love.”
A Haddonfield, NJ biotech engineer sets out to investigate a mysterious mental illness that has beset the region since colonial times. It becomes a race with time to lift "the curse” that has rendered present day Greenwich, NJ a virtual ghost town.
GREENWICH: THE FINAL PROJECT is a historical, science fiction time travel mystery set against the backdrop of fast-moving events leading up to the Greenwich Tea Burning of December 22, 1774, on the eve of the American Revolution. It is largely a tale, both then and now, of two small South Jersey towns: Greenwich, Cumberland County; and Haddonfield, Camden County.
The story opens in 1999 as our hero, John Samuel Weston, owner of a small biotech engineering firm in Haddonfield, NJ, wakes up in the psych ward of a local hospital recovering from an apparent psychotic break following a Labor Day weekend trip to Greenwich, Cumberland County, NJ. His close friend and business partner, Bob Fenwick, experienced a similar “breakdown” on a July 4th fishing trip to Greenwich, which is what prompted John to go to Greenwich to investigate.
Beyond historical science fiction, GREENWICH is a mixed genre story of love and passion, a tale of family lines past and present, genetic engineering gone awry and the supernatural, as John embarks on a mission of time travel to try and “lift the curse” that has rendered present-day Greenwich a virtual ghost town.
“In his debut novel, Goldhahn swings for the fences, combining complex historical and scientific themes…A layered, challenging fusion of genres.” — Kirkus Reviews
“This book…has a unique way of combining well-researched historical content, along with a serious and scientific plot line about genetics. The author displayed an intimate knowledge of South Jersey, both geographically and historically.”— Donald Piccoli, 5-star Amazon Review
“. . . I was unable to put it down for very long and finished reading it in three days. I like historical novels as well as mysteries and science fiction. This book has a combination of all three.” — Julie Fournier, 4-star Amazon review.
“I truly was impressed with the quality of literary prose and overall professionalism, from the cover art, to the editing and the formatting.” — (5 stars) Candice Waller Senior Reviewer – Indie Book Reviewers
“Greenwich: The Final Project” . . . is a brilliantly and powerfully-written tale of epic proportions, both in scope and breadth of topics and even crosses genre lines in a way I’ve never seen . . . To say this is totally unlike anything I’ve ever read before would be an understatement. Highly recommend. — (5 stars) Cara Patterson—Indie Book Reviewers
“Greenwich: The Final Project” . . . is hands down one of the most riveting and well-crafted books I’ve read in quite a while. . . Goldhahn’s descriptions and attention to detailing on all fronts seemed very authentic – we truly feel we are experiencing life in pre-war colonial 1700’s. . . So this is absolutely amazing for a debut novel! Would love to read more from him in the future. — (5 stars). Danielle Hudson, Senior Reviewer—Indie Book Reviewers
