As I left the funeral of a friend of mine who died from kidney cancer I had a vision of a barrel of monkeys. Remember the little plastic monkeys that you hang from each other , arm to arm?
My friend was a public high school football coach. The church was full of young men he had mentored. One by one they stood up and gave eulogies of what Coach Ken had taught them. Coach Ken was immortal. Hundreds of mentees would spread his beliefs and values to their younger brothers, their own children and to all the employees they ever manage in their long lifetimes.  I realized that although I could count over 65 mentors in my 25 years of Real Estate sales , I had very little mentees. I saw myself as a plastic monkey from the barrel who had many monkeys pulling him up but none below that he was lifting up himself.

Writing a book for me was the fastest and most efficient way for me to build more plastic monkeys below me than existed above me. It was a way to build mentees. It was a way to share with the younger generation of today's real estate agents what 65 other real estate mentors shared with me and then mix it up with all of my real life stories of what went right and what went wrong in my long and prosperous career on the front lines of the residential real estate game.

I've always been fascinated by agents who set goals and then think that miraculously they will come true. Of course most never do come true.  My hope is this book is used as a road map to get you from the point of setting a goal all the way to the point of achieving that goal. I believe it is a clear description of the roads and the trails that take you from here to there and when followed equal ultimate success.

Pat is definitely a TOP producer in real estate. Having sold over a BILLION dollars and hundreds of homes every year, Pat clearly knows his stuff.

However, after all the promotion and anticipation of this book, I feel like we really did not get an inside look at Pat's business and HOW we can implement similar tools in our business.

The book is mainly a story of Pat's success over they years with a few general "action steps" at the end of each chapter. Being titled "6 Steps to 7 Figures" I would have liked to see more HOW-TO content.

Is the book valuable? No doubt. It is easily worth the price if you just get one good idea.

The most valuable item from the book is Pat's 50+ Free forms and marketing pieces. WHY as a publisher would you only mention this a couple of times in the book? Also, when you go to download the items, you have download each item individually from the site. Why not put these all in a single .zip file?

I would like to see tracking and stats with examples of the marketing pieces IN THE BOOK.

In the Millionaire Real Estate Agent, Shift, and similar books, they have charts, marketing pieces, examples, etc.

If you notice in this book: Outrageous Advertising That's Outrageously Successful: Created for the 99% of Small Business Owners Who are Dissatisfied with the Results They Get From Their Current Advertising they put lots of examples and talk about the results.

The bottom line, there is certainly value in the book, but right now it should be titled "Pat's story on how I did it" not "6 Steps....".

I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced copy of "6 Steps to 7 figures". The book is written by a real estate professional, but it's lessons and techniques are applicable to anyone. What I like most about the book, is the easy reading style. The author really keeps things moving along, injecting anecdotes of his personal life as it relates to the 6 Steps. It also shows you how to use these steps in your everyday life. It's basically an owners manual for being successful. I highly recommend this book, and applying these steps. It's a must read for anyone in business, or if you just want to live a fuller life.

I have read many real estate books that have talked about growing your real estate business but this book is much more powerful. Its about HOW TO HAVE A LIFE while being a real estate professional. I have a real estate team, a young family, I work hard but never knew how to balance both until I read this book. I believe that there are truly financially successful people in real estate, who "make it" but at the expense of losing their family. The real stories and successes shared and tips presented in the book can help anyone at any level within their real estate practice. Thanks for sharing Pat like your team says. YOU ROCK!

I bought this book at Keller Williams Mega camp in Austin, TX (2011). I read the entire book (cover to cover) on the plane home; I could not put it down. Pat shared his proven tools and methods that he used to become a Billion Dollar producing agent in his career. He explains things in a simple manner and shares his systems, tools and proven marketing methods. There is no reason to re-invent the wheel, he lays it all out for you and gives you samples.

If you want to jump start your career or fine tune it, this book is a must read for any agent at any level.

After receiving an advance copy of "6 Steps to 7 Figures," I immediately read it cover to cover. The practical advice was so timely and so helpful. I have applied several of the items into my business and am working towards adding others in as well. While this book was written by a top producing real estate professional with a large team, Patrick Hiban's tips also apply to the solo agent. I have recommended this book many times since I read it, as well as at Keller Williams Mega Agent Camp, and will continue to do so.

This is one of the best real estate books that I read. It is detail but to the point, a great read. Wonderful Ideas when starting out, how to gain client, how to build you business. Im new to the real estate world and i feel so much more confident after reading his book. His ideas are realilistic and and can obtainded. I enjoyed it from cover to cover and I have read a lot of real estate books and I put this one at one of the best ive read so far. It has Pictures and graphs, and notes for you to take. I was suprised that this book had so much info and is only 6 chapters. A MUST READ!!!

We bought copies for our entire office and I finished reading this book the same day I bought it. It's right up there with the Millionaire Real Estate Agent in terms of my favorite real estate books - and I've read almost all of them. A lot of books provide excellent tips, but "6 to 7" sets itself apart by providing the advice from the unique perspective of a Mega Agent. Reading the author's personal story, alongside the real estate advice, makes everything seem more "real" and makes real estate success seem more attainable to the reader.
