Just received my advance order copy for my daughter. Follows the same format as the European History book, which is concise and VERY high level to understand the big points in history. The book is excellent to read along with your classroom text as you progress through the year. I highly recommend this book for those who need to really catch-up as well. It's a great summary, and if you REALLY get this short version down cold, and can write a decent essay, you will get your passiing score.

Best of luck to you!

If you want to pass that AP exam I suggest you get this book. It has a nice schedule for what you should be studying at that time, it has practice tests, and a lot (A LOT!!) of information that will definitely help you.

I use the 5Steps book as a "summary guide" for my students. I tell them they can purchase any version, it doesn't matter how old it is. My primary frustration is not with the book but with the publishers. Every year, they put out a "new" version, which is basically the old version with a new intro and chapters rearranged. It's the same old trick used by college professors to force students into purchasing the "latest" version of the book each year, even though the content info doesn't change. School is so expensive and I hate seeing students ripped off like that. Regarding the book itself, this newest "latest" version doesn't include any of the revisions recently made to the AP testing procedures or even the style of the test questions themselves. In that regard, this book was "out of date" before it even hit the shelves.

While she hasn't taken the AP US History exam yet, I think this will prove helpful. It arrived in good condition and came quickly. We will know more in June if it helped!

We had several books to help my daughter, Danielle, get ready for the AP U.S. History test, but we found this one to be most helpful. It includes a number of practice tests and is packed with information and tips that really helped Dani.

My student already has her own book, from another publisher; I bought this as an auxiliary aid in order to provide additional practice work. It is well organized and well written, and overall a great study aid.
