As I picked up Dr. Russo's book, I wasn't sure what I was about to discover. As a seemingly healthy almost 30 year old, why would I worry about healthcare? As I finished, I was surprised at how much I had learned. I have a new found confidence that not only am I able to make beneficial and stronger healthcare decisions, but that I will continually adapt to find the best care for myself and loved ones, as we strive to live a long and healthy life.

Being a health care provider, and more significantly a patient advocate, I was truly impressed with the passion and accuracy of Ruthann Russo's advice in 7 Steps to Your Best Hospital Healthcare. The author tells a story, relays truths about the world of medicine, while providing the reader with reasons to make informed choices according to their own treatment preferences.
Ruthann is effective in her mission to serve as a resource for the healthcare consumer using her own personal experiences to guide the reader and validate the calamities in our health care system. This book is a great read and a roadmap to quality healthcare!

Finally, a clear and concise resource for every healthcare consumer. After reading this book, I am no longer intimidated or apprehensive about seeking and obtaining high quality services from doctors and hospitals. Dr. Russo notes that buying quality health care isn't like buying a car...but she clearly knows that both need a navigation system. Thank you Dr. Russo for providing a "Healthcare GPS" to all of us trying to find our way through the healthcare system. I can now advocate for my ill parents with confidence and knowledge.
