Steve Alvesteffer grew up with an intense interest in two seemingly unrelated subjects—science and art. He graduated from Virginia Tech with an MBA in information technology, a B.S. in computer science, and minor degrees in history, mathematics, and studio art. He spent a decade working at the United States Patent & Trademark Office, judging the originality of other people’s ideas and inventions. Steve now writes for a living in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. with his wife, dog, and three kids.
