Electronic / Techno Mixture
on December 27, 2012
The recording includes some singers with good voices, especially the female at the beginning, and the male at 50 minutes into the recording. There is also an instrumental part at 35 minutes that I really liked. It sounded like a classical song (maybe a nod to Beethoven?), played on a string instrument (or maybe keyboards). I know the tune, and you'll probably recognize it too, but I just can't place it. (Please, feel free to add a comment if you know the name! LOL)
At times, it seemed like I was listening to a bunch of electronic sound effects rather than music. It is heavy on pulsing, rhythmic electronic (and vocal) repetitions. There are also some voice-overs, such as, "okay, roll the drums." Some of the voice-overs are electronically distorted (like interview voices - or ransom demands from the movies - when they are trying to disguise the person speaking), even sounding like something evil out of a horror movie.
Overall, it was okay, but I wouldn't rush to play it again. If this is the style of music you enjoy, and you want to raise the energy level at a party as well as provide background music, this would probably do the trick.
Note: I was surprised to discover this MP3 offering downloaded as a single, 60-minute file. There are not any breaks (silences) between artists. For me, this was a negative, but it might not bother you.
