Steve Madden, the company, was founded by Steve Madden, the man, in 1990 in Brooklyn, where he started out making trend-advancing shoes one pair at a time. It was not long after that the Steve Madden focus on "now-ness" earned rave reviews from young female fans mad for the funky, chic, and yet competitively priced footwear it produced. The company popularized the "dressy sneaker," and continues to man the forefront of trends.

The shoe has a narrow toe area and the insole is thin which is fine, I have a pair of heels higher than this that are super comfortable after breaking them in a little but that's because the fit isn't weird, like these boots. I bought them to go as part of my halloween costume and thankfully, I tested them out a day before. I wore them to work and regretted it within the hour. I thought maybe it was because I have flat feet so I put some insoles. Nope. Then as I was taking the insole off, the shoe's insole started to come off as well which made it look cheap. I hadn't even walked out. Luckily I had bought some booties from target the day before and for a lower price and even rain resistant. Plus they were cute and actually comfortable.
So if I had to summarize my thoughts about these booties, I'd say these are a no for me. I bought these thinking I'd break 'em in nice and have them for a long time but the fit is weird even though I got the correct size (my feet are small/narrow and flat so if this is you too, just skip these) and definitely not worth the money.
