The book ends on a fitting note: the mystery of Kim Philby. The writer hints that there was indeed "more" to the mystery than has been disclosed, or possibly ever will be disclosed due to the ongoing nature of counter-intelligence.

I had already read Cave Brown's "A Bodyguard of Lies" when it first came out in the late 1970's and was equally blown away.
Real life espionage and intrigue ... better than a racy novel!!!
