As expected, Diane Escalera cranks up the heat and gives a story sizzling with seduction and chemistry. The intimate scenes were combustive enough to put fire to the page.

Unfortunately, Still Hot for You ended up being a DNF. I am not a big contemporary reader and I just could not get into this one. So many things felt wrong and bothered me.
For starters the blurb turned me off. You can read it yourself.
Shay feels she has wrecked her marriage of five years by demanding a baby. She knows she was wrong. Really!! It’s not her fault. Talking to her husband about having kids is not wrong. Yes, this is something that can come between a couple. I get that and I can feel for Shay, but it just felt so wrong for her to take all the blame.
From what I gathered by the first two chapters is that Dylan is not against kids, he just wants to be finically secure. Instead of talking with his wife about the issue, well he made it worse by not talking and she feels her marriage is doomed. Not sure why Dylan has distanced himself from his wife. If they love each other as much as was indicated they should have been able to talk the issue out.
She loves her husband and does not want it to end, so what does she do to fix it, yep a Booty Camp. What’s that? A weekend filled with seduction! Dylan will talk about sex, but not the really issue. Now sex, not the issue at this point just turned me off the story.
Still Hot for You was not the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

I really enjoyed Still Hot For You! First off, I love Latin men...oh boy do I love them. I love the way they slip hot words in another language into conversations. I love their tanned chests and tight abs. I LOVE THEM. Dylan was no exception. The depth of his character was more then what I had expected. He had real, concrete reasons for not wanting to start a family right now. Reasons I am sure many men find themselves contemplating . Dylan didn't think they were financially stable and he felt insecure because Shay's dad never thought he was good enough for his daughter. So in trying to prove himself worthy, kept putting off having a family.
Shay decided she wanted a baby when she hit the dreaded 29th birthday and heard her biological clock ticking for the first time. This is just something women deal with. By the time we are 30 we are expected to have hit our milestones. Marriage. Job. Baby. No it's not broadcast but its a silent understanding amongst women. So when Shay hit that she went slightly crazy and demanded that they have a baby right then and there. Probably not the smartest way to broach the subject, but hey, women can be a little crazy.
Together Dylan and Shay are hot hot hot! Escalera does a great job of making the characters so human. Real problems, real solutions and all done with a lot of heart! Her sensual writing ability was showcased with this one and she did a great job of combining sex with story arcs. This is a short novella so you can read it in one sitting but yet not feel as if you are missing anything because of the length. I found the intent behind the Booty Camp to be fine, if not a little ambitious for real life. If only all marital problems could be solved by lots of great sex. I find in real life the sex is usually wonderful but real people don't follow it with deep emotional conversations LOL. I think in that respect though I found it slightly unbelievable.
I recommend readers that want something heartfelt but might not have a lot of time check out Still Hot For You! Also, this one is a bit spicy, so be prepared for the spark
I give Still hot For You by Diane Escalera 3.75 stars!

Shay wanted a baby and couldn't see that her all consuming need to have one had completely pushed her husband away. She is now willing to do whatever it takes to reconnect with him, she wants to go back to the time in their marriage before everything got complicated. Dylan has a want & need to succeed. Growing up in poverty, he is determined to be the best provider that he can and so that he, and his family, will never see those times again. However, he always feels he can do better and when Shay wants to start to family - it scares the hell out him. He wants to wait until they are ready, but he doesn't know if they will ever be?
I really liked the dynamic of the the two main characters and the premise of the story. Their love for each other really translated off of the pages well and I admired the compromises they were willing to make to find each other again. Ms. Escalera beautifully captured what happens after the wonder, magic & initial heat of the beginnings years of a marriage wear off - and a couple has to decide do we love each other enough to make this work or give up. Most couples decide to give up, but not Dylan & Shay and I'm glad. It makes the love so much sweeter, better & stronger when you have the satisfaction of working & overcoming obstacles and can still find your way to each other.
