This series starts with the first book The Red Field (an extraordinary story) and continues with Still River. (you do NOT have to read one to understand or appreciate the other).
It's impossible not to begin living the life of Aniah and her family as I read through the book. I felt like I was her throughout the story. Shared every laugh, thought, tears, physical sensations, losses and wins. I was even speaking like her in my mind. I followed in her steps through the Southern states. Loved as she loved. Cried as she cried. The feelings of this book are still with me. Enchanting and captivating. This is truly a must read for everyone.
I'm so looking forward to reading the next book - Black Angels.
Jason Morgan Taylor has a way of writing that pulls you into the book and character like hypnosis. Jason writes with such skill, beauty, emotion that I felt them all.
