"His writing style, simple yet elegant, concrete and specific while also containing moments of sheer poetry and humor accurately reflects, to my eye, how individuals with Asperger's think, write and communicate... The book is elegantly shaped and organized, with the charming characters of Robert and Chloe at its center... STIM is a very valuable book for readers with Asperger's, but (and perhaps more importantly) those readers who don't understand the mind of a person with Asperger's will have their eyes opened by this book. Extremely well done." - Judge, 22nd Annual Writer's Digest Self-Published Book Awards
"Stim is AMAZING. Positively the best book I've read in the past year. As the mother of an ASD sufferer, I was crying by page four. Kevin Berry captures both the pain and the joy of this unfathomable and confusing condition, providing us with rare insight into the everyday struggles of an Aspie. Robert's story is frustrating, shaming, poignant, and ultimately triumphant. Stim should be on everyone's reading list." - Lee Murray, author of A Dash of Reality, the award-winning Battle of the Birds, Misplaced and Into The Mist.
From the Author
It took me about two years to write this book. It's a short book, but I put it through many drafts until it was the best I could make it. I wanted you, the reader, to feel what it's like to be inside the head of a young guy with Asperger's.
