Here we go again. Freeway is back for the third time in a year. "Philadelphia Freeway 2" was solid. "Streetz Is Mine" was not as good. So where does Free go with this one? Free has teamed up with long time G-Unit producer, Jake One to try and establish himself as a heavyhitter in the rap game. But the question is can he ever equal or do better than his classic second album "Free At Last"? The answer is a huge yes.

"The Stimulus Package" is Freeway's best album to date. It reminds me of a hot summer day in Philly with the freshest cars parked on the street, music blasting while trying to catch the latest eye candy. Let me start off by saying this is the best production by a single producer since 9th Wonder on "The Minstrel Show". Jake One was an underrated producer who manly worked with G-Unit. Now he works with Dr. Dre and is said to be lending a hand to the "Detox" album. (If there really is one). Songs like "Know What I Mean" (which is the first released single) show that Jake One is one of the top up-and-coming producers of today. And "She Makes Me Feel Alright", which samples Rick James "Mary Jane", is as good as any 9th Wonder production. Matter of fact a few songs remind me of 9th wonder like "Free People" & "Freak The Beat".

But of course producers cant carry the whole album on they own. That's where Freeway comes in. One thing I've been impressed with is Freeway's ability to paint vivid pictures through his rhymes. "Never Gonna Change" is an example of Freeway's improved storytelling flow over a sample of Biggie's "Warning". He follows that up with the Birdman assisted "Follow My Moves" And "Money" has Free teamed up with Omillio Sparks over a DJ Premier-type beat.

It takes a lot for me to give an album 5-stars. I listened to this album back & forth looking for anything to drop the rating. The only thing I found was "Microphone Killa" which isn't bad, it just took me a few spins to like. Free doesn't waste his time with clever rhyme schemes, slick metaphors or sing-a-long lyrics. This is true hip hop at its finest. Jake One will no doubt soon be making hit records. He used this album as his own personal resume. I will definitely be listening out for him. Freeway doesn't have the lyrical abilities of a Jadakiss or Luda, but he makes up for it with flow, charisma & confidence. He really believes he is one of the best rappers in the game. And if he keeps making albums like this he soon will be. Word is that for his next album he teams up with Beanie Sigel. If the production is as good as this, Freeway will have no problem achieving top 5 status.

Freeway does not disappoint on this LP, Jake One brings hard hitting kicks and whistles, this just seems to bang out to the surface, even if you turn some of the tracks down, they still demand attention. Free's in your face lyrics definitley impress. The second track sets the tone for what is about to be a refreshing experience, Free goes in hard right from the first bars and it just gets your spirits riled up "Everybody throw your hands up!!". The beats are brisk, well constructed. I must say even i didnt expect this album to be this good. Free brings serious, personal lyrics, nothing about chains or senseless bragadoccio, its a tale of violence, a hard life, and a few survival cues he had learned growing up. But make no mistake, its not all about hardcore, there are also slow melodic songs. He's rhyme scheme is the same only a little improved, i like imagery and metaphors, though he doesnt employ those extensively, he still gets his point accross successfully. Even if you dont like Freeway, give this a chance, i promise you even the guest appearances will keep you listening.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....first off let me decribe the cd package this is some clever stuff for real it looks like wallet when you open it up and the cd booklet looks like money to fit into the cd it has like a credit card too that you can go to the website to download free stuff this so innovative i love it nobody does stuff like this no more no one puts the time into cd packaging no more...the album is hot if you like freeway and you know what he's about this will not dissappoint Jake One production fits freeway style of flow and it just knocks!!! Freeway is at home on these beats plus he broadenes subject matter (never gonna change,free people,outro)but the intro has the hottest beat and features Beanie Sigel (crazy!!) cop this CD freeway fans will love it new fans will dig the cd packaging for me the music comes first the cd packaging is just a added bonus

Some more tight beats from Jake 1..I liked it but if I'm going to compare it with the " white van music" cd of his I have to give it 4 stars. The white van music cd is a step above at 5 stars.
