'Stoic Logic' by Benson Mates has long been out of print, and the Advanced Reasoning Forum is to be congratulated for reprinting it.

The Stoics intended their logic to serve as a foundation for understanding and applying their ideas on ethics. From the Stoic point of view, logic is not an academic subject; but rather as a basis for practising the Stoic way of life. Stoic logic, like all logic, is not easy. It takes work to understand it; but it is, I think, well worth whatever amount of effort that is needed.
