Loved this book! The chemistry between Ken and Stephanie was extremely hot! This book not only has two main characters that have depth, but it also has suspense, mystery, and a psychotic ex-boyfriend! I instantly hated Jerome within minutes of him being introduced in the book! It does end in a cliffhanger, which I was not so excited about. I will be waiting not so patiently for the next installment!

I received an ARC of this book and enjoyed it very much.
it starts off with a bang... literally.
Stephanie is going to school to be a nurse. Ken is a fire fighter who is training to be a paramedic
they both want to help people for their own reasons but are brought together by that need.
Stephanie was in an abusive relationship and is trying to get her life going in the direction she wants. Ken helps her in that department as well as others ;)
I wont say too much as to not spoil anything but i will let you know it ends with one of those dang cliff hangers. Hence the 4 stars. Overall it was good

I was given this book for an honest review. We meet Stephanie as she is driving home and she encounters an accident. She is in the last year of her nurse's training so she grabs her first aid kit, her stethoscope, towels and a sweater. She helps the people that she can. The fire fighters and paramedics arrive. One of the firefighters commends her on the actions she has taken. Her boyfriend comes over to share his good news and barely listens to her about the accident. She is very sore from moving the people and working in a cramped space, and finally gets him to leave after he pulls his Jekyll and Hyde behavior. He promises that she will be sorry that she made him leave. At the store where she works she meets the firefighter from the accident. Ken watches her checking his groceries out and is having a fantasy about her and sex when she drops the milk container and it splashes every where. Will Ken's fantasy come true? What about her boyfriend since he is no longer the nice boy she met in college? Since I don't read all of the blurbs and excerpts of the books that I read, I was enjoying the story until I realized that the book ended and the story didn't. Can't wait for the next book in this set.

Received as an ARC for an honest review.

WOW!!! Holy hotness!
A nursing student and a FF/Paramedic embark on a relationship, however it seems someone has other ideas!
The twists in this book are phenomenal! It sucked me in and wouldn't let go! I can't wait until book 2!
The cliffhanger in this book will leave you with a WTF just happened! But you won't be able to get it out of your mind, either!
Great job Leslie Johnson!!!!

I was sent a free copy for an honest review by Leslie Johnson. I could not stop reading this book! I loved the interaction between the characters. I cannot wait for the next book, I wasn't ready for this one to be done. It was a natural, very relateable relationship that developed, not one that was unbelievable, and unattainable in real life. One I would be overjoyed to find. Great job Leslie!! Thank you so much for allowing me to read, and fall in love with Stoking the Embers

I had an advanced copy of Stoking the Embers.

Wow ! It was a great book !!

Stephanie has her hands full with this ex of hers. I felt the fear a long with her ... what is Jerome going to do next ???? I love Ken .. he is not really sure yet how to deal with what he's feeling.

The sexual chemistry is on point ....i couldn't help rereading some parts :) I am VERY much looking forward to the next book. Great cliffhanger .... what will happen next ?? :)

I read a lot of novels and I must say that this one rocks with regard to characters, plot, and real world fears. It grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let go. The crazy person is truly psychotic and the heroine and hero are truly weary of relationships as well as the fact that crazy people are out there and need to be thwarted. I love the real life feel of how crazy stalkers to laid to bear here. Looking forward to book 2!

If I saw a warning review I would never have read this book. When are the authors going to get the message that people expect a full book that stands alone. The storyline was ok. She is abused by her boyfriend. She is studying to be a nurse when she meets a hot fireman. Lots of sex but buried is a good story.
