“I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
Jackson is very determined when it comes to FINALLY making Avery his ;) I also loved how genuine and faithfully honest these two were to their love for each other even before they both knew that their feelings were returned and when they finally talked and declared their feelings, Jackson's claiming started commencing right away (even though he was a virgin and inexperienced as Avery) he was still very hot and passionate in their intimate scenes and at the same time to me, it was also beautiful because these two soulmates FINALLY reunite after years of not seeing each other yet faithful, knowing no one would be able to complete them and compete with the type of love, which was a forever kind of love so they both stayed virgins and many will say, "not another dual virgins story" but in this scenario it fit and I liked how the author implemented and demonstrated us with her writing how Jackson and Avery thought and felt and some of us could relate to one if not both of them :)
Also, I love that we got multiple epilogues in this novella and I loved each and every one of them, especially the last one :) Not even the long years that Jackson and his Avery have spent together and raising their beautiful family has extinguished their love, on the contrary, it has grown stronger than ever as well as passionate, hot and sexy ;) and I'm glad we get to see that true love will always win and beat within their hearts no matter the time, distance and obstacles that it's put in front of their paths because when it's true love, the forever kind of love, it conquers all of those things and get their happily ever after <3 <3
Stoking Her Fire is my favorite kind of second chance romance. The one where both know they fell in love a long time ago, and instead of trying to find someone to replace their love, they hold out until they can see them again. So sweet you're going to need a trip to the dentist after, but so incredibly worth it. This short little novella maybe wasn't super realistic, but it was just the kind of novella I love to read.
There was minimal drama, but there was a sassy grandma in it.
Jackson and Avery met in high school, when Jackson was the socially awkward nerd and Avery was the social butterfly. Avery was overcompensating for a rough childhood by being everyone's best friend, but her connection to Jackson ran deeper than that, even as a child. Jackson knew he loved Avery since he was the nerdy teen, but moved away before he had the guts to confront her with his feelings.
Six years later and Jackson is seriously buffed up and a firefighter. He's also back in town to claim the one woman who has ever held his heart. He and Avery meet by chance, but move very quickly. Distance definitely made the heart grow fonder in this novella, and neither want to waste anymore time.
I've read a couple of Mila's books now, most were before I started reviewing and I was a punk who read books and never reviewed. So I knew when I got this book that I was going to love it. Mila always gives you short and sweet, but also naughty. Her books are so worth the one-click, or the free download if you're on KU.
