Harper heads home and back into the immediate media crap storm. Her father wants her by his side with her mother too, to show family solidarity at the courthouse where he is asking the court to move the venue. While there, the biggest investor her father deceived is Robert Wentworth. Beside him is someone who looks familiar-Ethan. He thinks Harper tried to pull one over on him, like her father, back in Tahiti. Heated words are exchanged and Harper ends up ditching the courthouse. She stalks Ethan on Google and learns he drives dirt track cars with a race the next day. She attends and tries to leave before being spotted which we know doesn't happen. They head back to his place where she gets sick again.......thinking she has a stomach bug. Ethan calls the on site doctor who asks Harper a series of questions that leads to the most important one. Love this opening book to a very interesting story and looking forward to what happens next!
Wow, what a story. Great cliffhanger and the suspense continue! I enjoyed reading this story because it was full of emotional angst, scorching love scenes, a compelling storyline, and this book was well written by Ella London—first book I read by her. The momentum of the story keeps you wanting to read more. This book seemed truer to life with the characters, and it also reminds me of the movie “Madoff,” the rise and fall of Bernie Madoff. I loved the characters of Harper Matheson and Ethan Wentworth. Harper traveled to Tahiti for some peace and tranquility because her life as she knew it was a lie, and she needed to get away from the catcalls and chaos that brewed in Boston. While snorkeling, Harper meets Ethan. Eventually, their chemistry is inevitable. But when Harper returns to Boston, the chaos and pandemonium erupts when her father goes to court. What will happen to Harper and Ethan’s relationship when he finds out who Harper really is? Why did Harper’s father have to go to court? This book will pique your interest. I cannot wait to read the next book to find out what will happen.
Now back home, Harper is expected to be by her Father's side when he makes a court appearance but she doesn't want to be there. She and her Mother are by his side as he addresses the media claiming his innocence. As Harper is looking around she sees Ethan; to her horror he is standing with the man that her Father is charged with swindling the most money from. Ethan confronts Harper and doesn't believe that they met by accident. Harper is hurt by his words and leaves the courthouse but she has to see him again. Harper finds out that he is going to be in a race and she goes to watch it. Afterward they meet up and Ethan asks her to go back to his place with him.
The electricity between them is palpable and their need for each other is stronger than before. But then we are left with one heck of a cliffhanger!!! I loved Stolen and I can't wait for the next book to come out. I highly recommend it...you won't be disappointed!!!
