"When the grace of God collides with our candid admission of failure, the result is often laughter and joy. Stolen Jesus does not shy away from the hurts inflicted by messed-up religion, yet this is the funniest Christian book I have read. Thank God for honest authors like Jami Amerine who are brave enough to write about life as it is."
—Paul Ellis, author of Stuff Jesus Never Said
"Stolen Jesus will steal your heart and compel you to keep turning the pages. If you feel as though you are on shaky ground in your walk with Jesus, this book will leave you standing on solid ground."
—Anna LeBaron, author of The Polygamist's Daughter
"As mere mortals, we tend to create different versions of Jesus our own experiences. Jami's fearless and funny categorization of her collection of different Jesuses is something to experience. Not only will you want to pay real money just to be in the backseat of her car during her next Starbucks run (because you will...), but this book will make you want to go deeper; truly examining your own Jesus collection and paring it down to one, true, Savior."
—Kathi Lipp, author of The Husband Project, Clutter Free, and Overwhelmed

Honestly, when I first saw the title, I was a little put-off. After reading, I get it and I can think of no better title for this book.
We all have "Jesus'" in our lives that need to go. Images of the one true God that we've made to fit our understanding of who He is and who we are. I'm grateful Jami so willing shares her struggles and victories. In doing so, she's helped me recognize and obliterate the "Jesus'" in my life that are false.
Thank you, Jami!
All thoughts, as well as the tears and laughter, are my own and I received no other compensation.
Jami opens her heart and lets us explore her journey to finding Real Jesus. She is very personable, gracious, and transparent. This book gently challenges the reader to examine his/her life and beliefs, with the ultimate goal that each of us finds the Real Jesus.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to laugh or anyone who is even the tiniest bit curious as to who this Jesus guy is. Trust me; the ride is worth the price of admission.
I didn’t realize that I had defined Jesus according to what I believed about MYSELF until I read this book. I recognized myself on every page. Except getting my hair caught in a Target shopping cart. Never done that.
If you had told me that I was approaching my faith walk as a to-do list, I would have argued with you. Because I know better. But those who are wiser than me have pointed out that you live out of what you actually believe. Looking at what I live? I am a recovering less-than who has settled for believing that Jesus looks at me this way too.
What are we DOING to ourselves? Or worse yet, to other believers?
I have cried tears of sweet relief realizing that all of the measuring up was putting Jesus in a box and putting me in chains. No more.
Full disclosure: I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions above are my own.
The timing of her message couldn't be better. This world is in serious need of the Real Jesus. A Gospel revolution of cosmic proportions. We should all thank Jami for being a part of getting this runaway train back on track! He's ALWAYS been 'the Way'... we just need a grand unlearning to a humble remembering. Stolen Jesus starts the process.
