Stacy Cornterstone is an incredible writer and I can hardly wait to read more from this author. She writes this historical romance with great scope and high-hearted drama. Fantastic read. It was not to long and not to short. Just right, with all my favorite subjects. I loved it.
Thank you Stacy for sharing your unforgettable line of characters in this swashbuckling tale. You truly are a cornerstone in my reading block of books.
I was pleased to find this is a clean romance. There are a tiny few curse words, but they are uttered by pirates and villains, and I didn't find them that offensive, because they weren't overused. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I found a paragraph in the prologue misleading. This part should have been divided into two paragraphs or reworded to prevent the confusion. The story also was quite unbelievable in places. The things that happened and the characters reaction to them didn't ring true. I also questioned, if Kit had to cut the dress from Tamsin's body to get it off, how did she manage to get the pirate clothes on the body without cutting them? And, if Captain Tory didn't want a woman sailing on his ship, why hadn't he put her off somewhere? Kit doesn't know how to sew, but most early sailors did, both on the sails and mending their clothes. Also, the incident with the manacle that was supposed to have caused the captain to give Kit his protection was never explained, and the captain does later want to hunt her down and kill her. Regardless of this, I did enjoy the book and read it quickly. I would rate it with 4.5 stars, which rounds up to a five.
What more could you possibly want in a story. This book was full of adventure and suspense!
I loved that this had a woman pirate who could survive and make a better life for herself..
the way she does it will surprise you! And don't forget the handsome man that comes into her
life by chance.. I could not put this down til the very end! Even right up to the end it
had me on the edge of my seat!
I would recommend this book to everyone, it was great!
