Overall I feel the idea behind the book is good. The backstory is a bit vague with regards to the gifted vs ungifted. The powers the characters have are mentioned, but not clealry described or used at all. Maybe the next books will be better detailed? Regarding the characters: Ricky is the only one that has truly been open and himself throughout the book about who is is and what he wants. Bad or not I appreciate the honesty. Hanna has no backbone stringing Ricky along until she confesses her engagement to Nickolas and breaking his heart. With friends like Nickolas you really don't need enemies. He has the idea in his head that he is the ethical character whereas he is utterly selfish. I really hope the story reaches some kind of conclusion in future books where Hanna finds out the real truth of the situation and actually believes it. If not the book had a terrible blunt ending.

The blurb instantly caught my attention and I just had to read this. Unfortunately I feel like that was the best part. The book for me was a little confusing and lacking.
I am hoping maybe the next one will go back and fill in some of the blanks. This book was a bit hard to follow.
The story has great potential especially if fleshed out in future books. It took me a while to get into the book. The use of names and codenames was occasionally difficult to flow with. I would love more back story on the Chancellor, Ricky, and Hanna.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I quite liked this book, didn't come up to my expectations, but a nice read all the same.
