The ruling Solizen have grown more calculating, while the Undercity population remains trapped in the darkness below. With the supply of life-saving VitD wiped out, the rebellion is ready to erupt at any moment.

Now, Arden and Dade reluctantly join a new team on a hazardous operation to infiltrate the Solizen’s most protected facility. Caught up in the uncertainty of shifting allegiances and suspicious allies, their relationship will be put to the test. But to carry out their dangerous mission, the teens must rely on their love more than ever—will it be enough to keep them alive?

About the Author

The oldest of five children, Heather Hansen was born in California. She always knew she wanted to be a writer, and she wrote her first book, a murder mystery in the style of Agatha Christie, in seventh grade. Unfortunately, she never could figure out who the murderer was, so the book went on for hundreds of pages, introducing new characters only to kill them off in the most gruesome ways her twelve-year-old imagination could invent. Her teacher was equally impressed and horrified.

Heather has a degree in English from California State University, Fullerton and has traveled the world with her husband, a retired marine. Her favorite place they’ve lived is Okinawa, Japan, where she had her choice of ramen, Japanese curry, and sushi every day. Along with their two teens and three dogs, they now live in Las Vegas, where she spends her time writing all day and eating Nutella with a spoon. She is also the author of The Breaking Light.

I liked the first book. I had to see what happened in the second book. So I turned the page and begun the trip. This is a super sequel to Breaking Light, that this author has created. I'm just saying a 7 book series, maybe 12. I have read; Asimov, Bradbury, Wells, Clarke, King, Verne, and Orwell and all I'm saying is that Mrs. Hansen is in the middle of the guys, coming on strong. I must go on reading to find out what happens to Croix, Murry, Saben, Mina, Coco, Annem, Roan, Nastasia, Venz and of course Father Benedict.

My mind is moving as fast as I can to keep everyone in place, in this story. My eye balls are killing me, this stuff is good, this is very enjoyable to me, and me someone who don't like this kind of book. I find myself craving for more, I'm on the trail of an adventure. Well all I'm saying is that, I can't put this book down. I'm trying to get into the author mind, this super vivid description of a fascinating new world, that she has put all her characters within. So I moved on and finally got to the end, what a story a cliffhanger, I'm sure. This second book is as well written as the first, full of vivid scenes, fast pase action, memorable characters and an out of this world imagination. Super, super, super, good, I can not wait to see what her next new book will bring. I'm sure the European and Asian markets are looking for, the next J.K. Rowling, and you never know where she might be. You'll have to get your own book, because the adventure continues.

Dade Croix (m, aka Ghost) had Arden Murray (f) in his arms. They were on the run.
The life-saving VitD supply no longer exist.
What did Saben (guard), & Dade discuss?
Sky Tower 1-2. Solizen (governmental benefactors) ruled over everyone.
Dade had met & befriended: Mina (weapons buyer), Coco (f), Annem (f), Roan, Nastasia (P/T), & Venz.
Tower 2. What did Dade confront Hernim Croix (Dade’s father, Croix Industries head) about?

What is going on with Father Benedict?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written Dystopian book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great Dystopian movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. It was just OK for me so I will rate it at 4/5 stars.

Thank you for the free author; Goodreads; MakingConnections; Skyscape; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; book

Loved the first book it was so new and different. This one felt rushed and didn’t make sense all the time. It was okay though. Don’t live the cliff hanger is there another one? Don’t know if I would read it. I was ready for it to be over. I loved the characters.

The first book in the series was a variation on Romeo and Juliet, in this book and coffee beyond and builds her own story as she continues to develop her characters and expound on her story. No longer a variation but a wholly new adventure.

The author has certainly created a fascinating world! Deciding which part of that world Arden fits in is making a fun and compelling story. Vivid descriptions, interesting technology, a real division in social status, great characters with a major goal in mind -- add all those together and you have a terrific story!

Please note, I won this book in a Goodreads book giveaway. I had been watching for it to be released and intended to purchase it. Those facts do not change my review in any way. I enjoyed the first book very much and I wanted to know what Arden was going to get into next!

It states 2 book series, so don't think a 3rd book is coming? If I knew there was a third book, I would have given 5 stars. I enjoyed reading the book and has a good story line. I did not like the ending. It ended too fast, with too many questions. Hanging in the air! One more chapter could have filled in the blanks.

Good second story and a great cliffhanger. I would suggest reading the first book in the series. This can stand on its own too.

I loved this follow up from the previous book. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is - many times a chapter would end at an exciting part, but then the following chapter did not follow on from that, there was sometimes a gap of several days. The author could have made their book even more interesting, and longer, if they had filled in those gaps.

There's something about this book that's part addictive and part not very. Certain passages through here got me not caring if i read any more and others where i wanted to know now what was going to happen. From memory i think the first was better. Let's see where the third will go.
