MILD SPOILERS IN MY REVIEW....
I'm a big fan of Tess Oliver's books. I've read a lot of them. I consider her one of my go to authors. I've never read anything by Anna Hart.
So... When this book popped up. I couldn't wait to read it!
I pretty much knew early on that this book was different.
I have to admit. I wasn't really feeling this book. I liked how the book started. Strong and shocking and it was in your face. I thought as I was reading it.
Yes! I'm in for a good read!
But...Once the the Stone brothers were introduced. It pretty much went down hill for me.
The contest they had going on.... Felt childish. And kind of took away from the story for me. The brothers thought of girls as numbers!
I mean... Really "sticky fingers".
Grown men acting like pigs! That whole contest was just gross. My opinion of them was not good!
And... That kind of set the whole tone of this book for me.
Colt and Jade started off so strong. I felt their connection. Colt felt it too.
But once colt went off with Jen & Tina. I just couldn't stand him. And Jade never asked Colt about it. Which irritated me. A girl just willing to accept what was in front of her.... No explanations.
And... Colt would let some of these girls sit on his lap or rub up against him. In front of Jade!
But Jade could not talk to anyone. I HATE those kind of situation in books.
I wasn't really feeling the way Hunter was treating Amy aka street either. Why would she just allow herself to be second best. Just aggravated me. Hunters can be with as many women as he wants. But EVERYBODY knows not to talk to or ask Amy out. And even when Amy does go out. She doesn't give the guy a chance.
Now... That gets to me.
After Colt and Jade got together the story pretty much was ok. But how the brothers were. I just couldn't get into it.
Love those Stone Brothers! Sexy, dominant alpha males that know how to kick a$$ and take care of the female population in their home town or any town for that matter! In Stone Cold Bad, authors Tess Oliver and Anna Hart team up to create the perfect male character and his picture-perfect lady love. The storyline is bold, bad to the bone and completely drool worthy with action that just keeps on kicking until the end. When you put two street smart, savvy, beautiful people together the inevitable will happen and it does. This is Colt and Jade’s story of finding true love!
No woman had ever been able to break down the impenetrable walls he had built around his heart. No one, until Jade! From the moment she walked into the bar where he was drinking with his brothers, Colt knew she was trouble with a capital "T." He didn’t do relationships; he was a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy but this girl made him forget all that. His protective instincts kick in and the steam heats up, as these two engage in the endless dance of love’s attraction.
Living on the streets was hard for a sixteen year old, but getting away from an abusive boyfriend years later was harder. When Jade finally escapes, her ex is hot on her trail and if he catches up with her it will not be pretty. Enters an extraordinary man, Colton Stone that not only warms her up put also rescues her. Beautiful masculine perfection with a bad boy vibe is the only way to describe Colt. He protects what belongs to him and Jade is his. If they can survive the s*** that is thrown at them, there may be a chance for them to find a future together. Read this incredibly beautiful story to find out what happens.

The Stone brothers were all those delicious bad boys who make every female essentially just drop their drawers and grown men cower in fear when they walk into a room. The story was exciting, sexy and full of action but with a not-too original storyline (pretty girl is running from her abusive rich boyfriend) and you could predict what would happen next. There were a few things that didn't sit right with me such as these hot, strong, well-liked men around town who post a competition on Facebook that is more suitable for teenagers than grown-up "tatted bad boys" and the way guys say they want a woman so bad, but then flaunt their other conquests in front of the woman they desire.
I figure the next books will be about the other two brothers and I would still read them even though I had a few issues with the childish behavior of these bad boys in this first book.
**** 4 **** "two tortured souls seeking comfort" stars
