Lisa and David are siblings that had already lost their father. While David was doing his job with the police, Lisa was studying law and focused on her future. When word came that she needed to go deal with her brother’s death, Lisa put her life on hold. She knew going back was going to be difficult but nothing prepared her when she came face to face with Brian, the man who stole her heart years ago and left her brother and the police academy and ended up as a full fledge MC member.
His eyes, that once held passion for her now was cold, full of steel and vengeance but was his heart as cold as she feared? Could he have played a part in why her brother is dead? It is clear that Brian has dark secrets that he would risk everything to protect. Could he really be long past redemption?
Between the fears of the circumstance, the anger at her loss and the love that never died for Brian, Lisa will take you on an emotional journey. The author gave us plenty of suspense, drama and confusion regarding the emotions that are involved. Brian knows where he is now, he is aware of what he left behind but never did he consider a second chance. Will the gang even allow a second chance with Lisa, or will she have to give up all she has worked for in law school to be with the man who makes her heart race.
This is the first book I have read from this author but it certainly won’t be the last. If you are a fan of a fast paced, complete plot with a style that keeps you on the edge of your seat and feeling as confused as to what you would do then Stone Cold is a winner. Now I can hardly wait to get the next book in the Iron Tornadoes MC Romance series.
I liked this book. It was free and short. What I don't like is that to continue Brian and Lisa's story you have to buy the other two books in the series which are $2.99 each and are around 200 pages. Even though I liked the books, uses the price goes down for the other two books, I will not be getting to finish the story.
It starts off really, really sad. Our heroine's police officer brother has been killed. They don't get told any details and aren't even able to do an open casket funeral. So she goes home and plans to stay the whole summer to be a support to her mother, then finish her last year of law school in the fall.
Her brother's best friend, and her first love, is her Uncle's stepson. He attended police academy with her brother, but had to leave before graduation. He has joined his father's MC, the Iron Tornadoes, who have links to organized crime and may be responsible for her brother's death.
They have a strong chemistry together, but she can't figure him out. He doesn't attend her brother's funeral or the wake, but he comes by to see her afterwords to be supportive (and to kiss her). He saves her from a scary situation with members of his MC by claiming she is his woman. They make love, then she doesn't see him until time to go back to school.
Obviously, I can't tell you the whole story, it is quite richly written and the characters are well developed. The author made me cry, which just doesn't happen, and made me happy when the heroine had a moment of happiness.
