About the Author
Laura Howard lives in New Hampshire with her husband and four children. Her obsession with books began at the age of 6 when she got her first library card. Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High and other girly novels were routinely devoured in single sittings. Books took a backseat to diapers when she had her first child. It wasn’t until the release of a little novel called Twilight, 8 years later, that she rediscovered her love of fiction. Soon after, her own characters began to make themselves known.

Aodhan intrigues me a great deal. I look forward to finding out more about he and Niamh. Saoirse's intentions are enigmatic at best. She is so powerful, but does she change her decisions based on what serves her best in the moment? It remains to be seen. I'm anxious to learn more about Samantha! Allison is left with heartbreak and a vendetta that she can't ignore … she will need help from those she loves, and she will need to know who she can truly trust.
Laura did an amazing job. I know the next one will top the first two books. Adding the Pronunciation Guide was a brilliant idea. It allows her to keep the integrity of the culture while still giving the average reader a way to follow along smoothly. I referred back to it many times to make certain I read them correctly. It allowed me to connect to the characters and story fully.
Laura surely has more to share with us in the comings years, and I will follow her all of the way!
The relationship between Ethan and Allison develops some unexpected turns, as Deaghlan continues to play his human games. Liam learns more secrets have been kept from him, and Aoife's treacherous plans to ensnare his affections continue to have ramifications both on the Danaan and human human sides of the world.
A well written and edited story, Laura Howard's Young Adult/Fantasy series is one that I continue to enjoy. Her unique world is built with mystery, magic and beauty. I'm looking forward to the series finally!
My OFFICIAL REVIEW written for Carly's Book Reviews
As with book one, I love these characters! Allison is still the strong, independent character she was in book one, however she is learning in this book that she can't do everything alone. Sometimes she has to trust and rely on others. Enter Ethan :) I seriously love this guy! He is the perfect book boyfriend. He's known Allison all his life, he likes her a lot, and he seems to know just the right thing to say and when. Basically when Allison tells him everything (and I do mean everything) about Liam and her heritage, he doesn't run for the hills. Nope he tells her "Whatever you're planning to do to help your parents, I want to be there."
The plot of this story is fast moving and really a page turner (I read it in one sitting!). It's a race against time as Allison, Ethan, and Liam must find Aoife and figure out what she is planning. I won't spoil it because it needs to be read and enjoyed :)
Overall I loved this book and am anxiously waiting for the final installment! Be warned there is a semi-cliffhanger and yes I shed some tears as well. If you enjoy fantasy, fairy lore, action, suspense, and a little romance, I highly recommend you check out this series.
