- INSPIRED BY WINGSPAN: While some of the gameplay may feel familiar from Wingspan, there are many new elements that make Wyrmspan a fun, new experience! Designed by Connie Vogelmann (Apiary) and developed by Elizabeth Hargrave (Wingspan).
- ENTICE AND HATCH DRAGONS: Wyrmspan includes 183 dragon cards (148 full-grown dragons and 35 hatchlings) inspired by animals and fantastical creatures from cultures around the world. Build the most prolific dragon sanctuary in this competitive, engine-building strategy board game.
- EXPLORE AND EXCAVATE CAVES: Create new space in your sanctuary by excavating caves which gain you helpful bonuses and entice dragons to live there, chaining together powerful abilities and earning the favor of the Dragon Guild.
- ENDLESS REPLAYABILITY: With so many dragon and cave card combos, this game will return to the table over and over again. Wyrmspan has wonderfully smooth and fast gameplay that will keep it exciting for many game nights to come.
- BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED: Gorgeous art and design with unique caves, dragons, hatchlings, and caves. Illustrated in a soothing watercolor by Clémentine Campardou (Floriferous and Delicious).
- THEMATICALLY DESIGNED MECHANISMS: The chaining of dragon powers by using the adventurer meeple down the cave activating the dragons that live there which makes it feel like you are walking through the cave. The hatchlings hatch from eggs, and their cost is milk and eggs, as though you were nurturing them. Their benefits also grow, as the hatchling would, and it gives you a one time benefit when the hatchling ages up.
- SOLO PLAY: Features an Automa to play against in a single player game for a fun solitaire experience. The Automa simulates an opponent for you to compete against, while your game as a player remains the same. On the Automa’s turn, flip a card to see what action it takes.
- EXCELLENT GIFT: Great gift for families, teenagers, students, couples, and anyone who loves dragons or medium weight board games. High quality components: Shiny cardboard coins, wooden tokens, high quality printed cards, and beautiful wooden speckled eggs.
- CREATED BY WOMEN: Designed by Connie Vogelmann (Apiary). Developed by Elizabeth Hargrave (Wingspan). Illustrated by Clémentine Campardou (Floriferous).

Wyrmspan
You are an amateur dracologist in the world of Wyrmspan, a place where dragons of all shapes, sizes, and colors roam the skies. Excavate a hidden labyrinth you recently unearthed on your land and entice these beautiful creatures to roost in the sanctuary of your caves.
Excavate Your Caves
Excavate the three caves on your Wyrmspan player mat with cave cards (75 unique caves options) to gain "when played" benefits, and create places for dragons.
Entice Dragons
Entice dragons (183 unique dragon options) - including tiny hatchlings - into your caves, adding abilities, extending your caves, and gaining end-game victory points.
Explore Your Caves
Explore your Crimson Cavern, Golden Grotto, or Amethyst Abyss to gain benefits unique to that cave and to the dragons living there.
Cache Resources
Some dragons allow for the ability to cache resources onto them, which is a way of dragon hoarding, and these resources earn you points at the end of the game.
Move on the Dragon Guild
Throughout the game, you will have the chance to advance along the dragon guild (4 different guilds, use 1 per game) which earn you a variety of benefits, including powerful bonuses each half cycle.
Win with the Most Points
Compete with other players for end-of-round goals (10 total tiles, each double sided). The winner at the end of the game is whomever has the most points across their player mat and in the guild.
Solo Mode
Wyrmspan also features a robust Automa solo mode, including a separate solo rulebook, 17 solo cards, and scoring indicators on goal tiles.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2025As an avid Wingspan player for many years, this game brings many different twists and mechanics. I am still determining the best strategy to use, as the Wingspan strategies do not apply here. The artwork is beautiful, and the game is a lot of fun.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2025This game is awesome! We have wingspan the board game as well as the Xbox game. So I was super excited to get this dragon version. Love it! Many things have been added or updated and new mechanics. We've only played a few times so far and I am just thrilled with it. We haven't used the expansions yet but will in the future. I would suggest getting this one over wingspan unless u are just wanting the bird theme.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2024My family loves Wingspan. This game came out and my 10 year old convinced us to buy it, and we were NOT disappointed.
It plays pretty similar to Wingspan with some variations. The complexity is raised about a level or two. There are added competitions, like a dragon guild you are trying to explore to gain resources. There is a DRAGON FACTS manual in this game, which is pretty awesome. It has some highlights and backstories of the dragons in the game. The gameplay time is similar to Wingspan and it follows the same turn style.
My 10 year old could play Wingspan in his sleep, and like I said before, this game added a little more to the gameplay. But he quickly caught on and enjoyed it immensely.
The quality of the boards and pieces and wonderful! I have zero complaints about this game. Anyone looking to add this to your collection will not be disappointed!

There are videos online to quickly learn and get going. Reader, I wish I was you reading this and playing again for the very first time. Stop thinking about whether it’s worth the price or not. (It is.) Just do it. Invite some friends over and play.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2025We love wingspan and typically play the two player wingspan:Asia version. We purchased this mainly because of the theme- I mean birds or dragons? Dragons, please! The game is highly rated on BGG and for good reason. It plays well with 2 and with 3 and 4. Filled with a number of good choices - ie strategy tactics for gaining points - we have found our games to be decently close. Often just a few decisions separating us. Additionally, we’ve tried different strategies in different games and have seen that it isn’t just a one-strategy-wins game. Overall, love it!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2025This is a beautiful and fun game. We recently played it at a game night and had a great time. The directions are clear, and once we did a round or two everyone was able to grasp the strategy and play well. I look forward to playing it many more times in the future! I hope there will eventually be expansions for it.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2025After thoroughly enjoying Wingspan we couldn’t wait to try Wyrmspan and we were not disappointed! It adds on wonderfully to the existing idea of Wingspan, with a bit more complexity and enjoyment. The book of dragon details was a lovely touch. So pleased!

mlDReviewed in the United Kingdom on February 20, 20255.0 out of 5 stars Like Wingspan, with Dragons and Caves
If you like Wingspan, you'll love Wyrmspan: dragons instead of birds. It's a little bit more complicated, with more ways to get Victory Points, but it essentially plays the same way. We haven't yet worked out which are the most desirable dragons, i.e. the Wyrmspan equivalent of Crows and Ravens, and you also have Caves to consider. Like Wingspan, it's a great game for two. It takes up a little more table space though.
